Question about Casio Parts Cash Register PC Desktop

1 Answer

Casio PCR-262/CR-160 Hi, I bought 2 used cash registers this weekend at an auction. They both have instruction manuals, but the man mentioned that one of them quit printing journals/receipts. When I got home, I plugged them both in and started programming the PLU's, Dept., and Taxes. I finally started trying to figure out why one of them wouldn't print. I unplugged the machine and unscrewed the 2 screws near the ink roll (which by the way wasn't there!). Once I opened up the top I found a quarter and a nickel which is probably(?) what caused the printing reel from feeding, BUT when I reassembled it, and went to plug it in.....NO POWER.......Grrrrrr............I fixed one problem, but created another. I have traced the wires and nothing seems to look loose or "burnt". Any suggestions on what I may have done. Was it because I turned the machine upside down? Thank!

    Mark,

Call me crazy, but how do I measure the resistance? Should I use one of those little red and white + and - end thingys?? And I am gathering that if this is what I use, do I have the register plugged in to my electrical outlet?? What if it is an "open circuit", is it kind of like a blown christmas tree fuse, that I just have to change??

This part is a little out of my league, BUT I am all for learning new stuff as long as you can take it down to about a Fifth grade level!!

    Thanks!

Hi.
There isn't much to go wrong on these. I have had them dead when the transformer primary goes open circuit. See if you can measure any resistance between the phase and neutral of the power plug.

Sorry, when you said you pulled it apart and traced, I thought you were a technician.
You would need a multimeter to test the transformer, so it's a bit too technical. You would need to take it to a dealer.

Hi i have a used cash register casio PCR-262 but i need the key for the drawer i dont have one.

On most drawers, the key is only used to lock the drawer to prevent it being opened. If you want to open the drawer manually, this cannot be done with the key. You should find a trigger under the drawer for this. If you are sure that you want to lock the drawer then you will need to order a key from a dealer.

Trying to use Casio PCR-T2100 cash register & Metrologic scanner.

Hi,
for the scanner, u need to program it to suit Casio Cash Register, eg: baud rate, parity , data bit & so on...other wise, the Cash Register cannot receive the signal from the scanner.
After program the scanner , please perform "flag clear" to the cash register.

Casio cash register PCR-262

Hi.
Casio usually call it a takeup reel. It must be purchased from a Casio dealer so just look up your local Casio cash register supplier and they can order one for you.
