Can not install windows 7

Is it the correct format? The disk must be in proper format in order to install windows 7 on it. This link should help you even further: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/format-hard-drive-windows-7.htm

I can not boot windows 7

Try this - but it will delete all partitions and data on the hard drive:

At the first screen, hit <SHIFT>+<F10>. At the elevated command prompt type:
diskpart
list disk
select disk 0
clean

Untill yesterday my Tosiba Portege M600 was able to recognize the DVD R/W. But from today it has suddenly stopped detecting it. I thought of formating my by bootable CD but the Bios is also not able to...

Hi!

Maybe your Toshiba M600 needs only a little cleaning.
The best way to fix the problem is to insert a optical drive cleaning disk an let it run.
Those cleaning disks are cheap, easy to find and very helpful.

Hoipe it helped,

best regards,

Restore disk has been lost. I need to know how to change bios to allow straight Xp to be installed

This isn't a bios setting, it's a setting that Compaq put somewhere (probably the MBR) of your OS to only allow it's restore discs.
If you want to use straight Windows XP OEM discs, just boot to the disc and you'll be able to install Windows. If that doesn't work, just format your hard drive(you'll lose everything) then boot to the XP and install that way.

Hello, can help me, my laptop ACER EXTENZA 4630 SERIES, why i can open the password bios when i re install the laptop..? thanks

Yes by default the bios is unprotected/no password. All you have to do if you want to setup bios password just go to bios then create supervisor password then it will have password everytime you need to access the bios. For info. bios password is not related to re-installation / installing your OS.

Hp compact mini n110 when you switch on says reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key can anybody says whats gone wrong?

Dear User,

Please ensure that the first device under Bios is Hard drive and there shoud be any external device like pen/flash drive is connected and or disc in optical drive. If everything is proper then it seems to be issue with you hard drive.

Acer aspire 5310 : did not find any hard disk while xp set up

Try with another fresh XP disc. Check your Bios if it shows hard disc. If bios show the HDD than its problem with your installation CD. If bios does not show HDD than check your HDD power and IDE cable. Replace IDE cable to diognose. If this does not solve, replace HDD.
