Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-46W3000 Television
I have a new Sony KDL-40Z4100 with AT&T Uverse TV on the HDMI 1 input. How do I program Wide Mode, Auto Wide and 4:3 Default so that the TV automatically displays 4:3 and 16:9 pictures without distortion?
With Wide Mode set to Wide Zoom, Auto Wide set On and 4:3 Default set to Normal; a 4:3 signal always displays streched (distorted) accross the whole screen. Manually changing to Normal will display the 4:3 signal correctly with black bars on each side and the picture the full height of the screen
Changing to an HD channel with a 16:9 picture will then display small in the center of the screen with black on all four sides until I change the setting again to Wide Zoom or Zoom.
I know that it is possible to have the TV automatically displays signals in the correct aspect ratio because our 6 week old Samsung LN37A550 does so flawlessly!

Bravia Z-Series KDL-40Z4100/B 40-Inch 1080pBecause if you connect this to your in home network you can stream music videos and music off you PC onto your TV without the need for extra wired or memory cards etc.
Otherwise if you don't need this feature the other options are identical on the other TV so it is just as good a choice.
