Gateway profile 4 all in one computer

The power comes on but their is nothing but a white screen. I was told it was the video card but because it's made onto the motherboard,. I need the motherboard. Okay I purchased a motherboard, that didn't work and I thought I had a bad motherboard, so I purchased another one. Well, that didn't work either and I was told they were both tested and working prior to reaching me. Now I'm thinking what else could be the problem. If you have any suggestions,Please let me know.

Thanks..............................

it's an all in one computer, my monitor is made on to the computer itself. The parts are purchased from ebay. But my last diagnostic was from a computer diagnostic store.

This actually sounds like a LCD problem or an LCD inverter problem. Why dont you have the techies at the palce you buying these parts tested it before you actually buy the part?

Before you buy anything else try it with another monitor. Obviously if the other monitor works then its not your motherboard its your monitor. Update video drivers to ensure you have the latest.

Gateway blank screen

Here's some tricks I would try. Something here, might help...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your monitor on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.

My gateway profile 4 all in one has a totally white screen with no display. Rebooted with normal

before thinking about replacing the video card

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty

if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

if you need to replace the video card it will be attached to the rear of the vga lead inside your computer usually in a pga slot

Remove your computer's cables.

Turn your computer around so the back faces you.

Remove the two screws on the computer holding the right side of your computer to the case.

On many models of gateway computers, you only need to remove the screws with your hand. Remove the right side of the case to expose the interior.

Unscrew the metal plate of your old graphics card holding it to your computer's case. Remove the card by sliding it out of the motherboard.

Slide your new graphics card into the slot from where you removed the old one. Screw the metal plate to your computer's case.
Reassemble your computer and connect its cables
hope this helps

I was getting the blue screen for a few months, and now when I power my Gateway GM5084 the lights come on and I hear it running but nothing comes up on the monitor. It's like it's not connecting...

First I would try a different video card to see if your video card is faulty or not. If you still can't seem to get any picture it could be that the power supply on your computer is starting to fail and not providing enough power to the video card.

Usually your PC will beep if it is a video card issue so if you don't hear beeps I would guess the power supply is the culprit. A replacement power supply is not that expensive and is quite easy to install as well.

When turn on the gateway screen apear, but the monitor turn off or black and not apear nothing my computer is gateway profile 4 all in one

Your power settings may need to be changed, it appears to be going into sleep mode or power saving mode.

If you are using Vista, Click Start> Control Panel > Power Options > "choose when to turn off display" (in the left hand pane) and check that it says at least 10 minutes. Click apply and then ok.

Alternatively, right click on your desktop, select "personalise" and click on screen saver - then select "change power settings" to bring you to the same thing.

If you have xp, right click on your desktop and select "properties" then "screensaver| > "Power" and change it to turn off the monitor after 10 minutes. Click apply then ok.

If your monitor is going to sleep, either press a key or wiggle the mouse to wake it up.

Profile 5.5 during startup screen goes blank

If the video card is an "onboard type" Is is not easy to replace. If you have a seperate video card, you may replace it with a like type, PCI, AGP,PCIe,etc. or if you computer has an open slot a video card can be added and turn off the "onboard video" in start up screen BIOS .    Since this is a GATEWAY(I do not know the model) computer you also always have the option of a complete restore . No video output, nobeeps from motherboard, fan comes on and hard drive spins.Gateway gt4022

Hello,
You might want to get your ram checked. Not all the time does a computer beeps when a memory is bad. Also, if you have tested the memory ok, then try another power supply, if that one is faulty, it will not be giving enough power to show on monitor. If that still isn't the problem, then it could be your video card. The way you will know if it's video card is that the keyboard light will be lighted but nothing will show on the screen. To test that press the num lock or caps lock key to see if it gets lighted. if it does, then the problem would be the video card.

Thanks and good luck. Hope this solves your problem.
