Hi!

First check for debris/lint in the drain hose and also for the garbage disposal.
Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.

Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise.

Please ask for further clarifications.

Thanks
Rylee

  1. Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit (there are others, this is just an example)
  2. Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.
  3. Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
  4. Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )
  5. Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise
  6. If you have recently installed a new garbage disposal, check knock-out plugat connection.
  7. Check pump impeller for damage.
  8. Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off.
Drain line/air gap A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Pump Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.

Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replace them.

Drain valve and/or solenoid Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing.

Belt One brand of dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump. If this belt is broken or has fallen off, replace it.

Motor If the motor isn't turning or working, the unit won't drain. First check to be sure you have power to the dishwasher. If not, see the section "It doesn't work at all." If the motor hums but doesn't turn, it may need to be replaced.

Some dishwashers are susceptible to getting stuck if you don't run them regularly. If you haven't run the dishwasher for more than a week, you may need to manually spin the motor to free it up. If the motor is defective, you need to replace it. Dishwasher motors can't be serviced.

Timer Part of what the timer does is control the motor and drain valve. If the timer doesn't work properly, the water may not drain and you need to replace the timer. This problem is uncommon.

Did you make sure that the trap on the bottom of the inside of the tube is not clogged will have to pull off cover to check.

also if thats not the problem then you might have to pull out the unit to make sure the drain hose isn't clogged or kinked.

hope this helps.
best of luck.

Your dishwasher not draining correctly could be caused by something stuck in the pump area, a restricted drain line or over sudsing. I would recommend removing the drain line from the dishwasher & inspecting the check valve, #15. Be sure to have a pan & some towels handy. If the drain line is clear then I would suspect something is down in the pump. This will require removing the pump cover & related parts to access the drain impeller, #24. If the dishwasher is not draining well. The drain hose may be kinked, or the screens or pump or macerator could be clogged. or The pump may be bad and need to be replaced
Does the dishwasher spray up water well enough to soak dishes, if not you might have a clogged screen under the spray arm housing.
If ok remove the drain hose from the drain and put it in a bucket. Fill dishwasher, select drain, and check for proper volume flow. If ok, you might have a clogged drain,.

    find
where the hose enters the drain, whether it enters it's own drain pipe
or the side of the disposal or an airgap that is connected to the top
of he sink. Disconnect the hose clean both internal areas, hose end
and where ever the connection is inside that drain as well, even if you
use a flat head screw driver clean it really well. reconnect it and
run it through a drain cycle a couple of times this should rinse out the
remainder of what ever was plugging the drain. If the air gap is
completely clogged the water when the D/W drains, water will come out,
if it is a air gap that protrudes through the wet side of the sink, be
sure the air gap is cleaned on both sides.

Check if the drain hose is clear.

Check also the drain line in the house is not clogged.

If you do not find anything in there, then you will need to access to the drain pump, there is probably an obstruction in the pump or in the hose, usually you find a lot of debris in there.

Ken more Dishwasher won't drain on final cycle. It will drain if the Start/cancel button is pressed

I'm not familiar with this exact model number..... Is this an older dishwasher with a dial control? If so, then the timer is probably bad, and is not allowing enough time for the drain pump to fully drain out the water.

Water not draining and not clean

When dirty water is left in the dishwasher the pump assembly is a primary cause. To assure that the dishwasher gets fully repaired and you are going to do the work yourself, I would order and install this part:

http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-16529000-%3d%3dc261i1065702&PartID=1065702

Also, check that the heating element is working. Many people replace the heating element whenever they replace the pump/ motor.

Good Luck!
