Question about Whirlpool WED8300S Dryer
I've looked up the PF code on this site and people say simple power failure. Most people who explain the problem say this trips the breaker. Mine is not tripping my breaker. It happens when I use timed dry over 30 minutes.
The support guy came out, replaced the control board....did not check temp sensors or anything else. Said if the control board didn't fix it, it would be time to call electrician. I think it's an issue with the dryer. The grate on the back of the dyer (the silver one) looks rusted or scorched and I've had temp issues before. Like I said, it's not tripping the breaker either, the machine is resetting itself. Any ideas?
PF code keeps coming up. Some days it shuts off repeatedly and other days runs fine. Best Buy tech replaced machine control electronics, console electronics, and checked wiring conections. An electrician checked the wiring. Its fine. voltage 118 to 120 volts. Called Best Buy again. They are sending a subcontractor out.
Two technicians have been out (new guy & experienced guy). First tech didn't take lower panel off, but 2nd tech did and found that drying vent tube (4" tubing) had disconnected. I replaced the rigid vent that came with it to vent to the left side instead of the back. That was 6/3 and today is 6/6 and it hasn't happened since. It was happening every load where it would run 3 minutes and shut off, then cool off for 5 minutes, run for 3 ....
Check you vent tube. I'll post again if this turns out not to be the solution.
