Screen lock is too fast

When using the touch screen, it times out to 'lock' too quickly causing me to have to depress the unlock button several times before the number is dialed. How can I slow the phone 'lock' down to about three seconds?

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2009

there is no way to slow it down. The only thing you can do is buy a different phone. it's a feature of the phone that cannot be adjusted.

How to work my touch screen on my jelly bean 4.1 10in

Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) your device now has several different lock options available.
To access your lock options, touch Apps [img border="0" alt="Image" src="https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/euf/assets/images/faqs/ICS/spdrjpn13.png"> > > Security & Screen Lock.
Screen Lock Options
  • Slide - provides no protection, but lets you get to the Home screen quickly, or open Camera and start taking pictures immediately.
  • Face Unlock - lets you unlock your phone by looking at it. This is the least secure lock option.
  • Pattern - lets you draw a simple pattern with your finger to unlock the phone. This is slightly more secure than Face Unlock.
  • PIN - requires four or more numbers. Longer PINs tend to be more secure.
  • Password - requires four or more letters or numbers. This is the most secure option, as long as you create a strong password.
The Lock Screen on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) uses two timers. The first timer is the "Sleep" timer which turns off the device display to extend battery life. You can turn the display on and swipe to unlock. The second timer called the "Automatic lock" timer turns on security features like pin, pattern, password or face unlock and protects the device from unknown users. This"Automatic lock" timer begins after the "Sleep" timer expires and you will be asked to enter personally recognizable data like pin, pattern, password or the face unlock when the display is powered on.
Note: The Automatic lock option will only show after a screen lock option (other than Slide) has been set.
To adjust the "Automatically lock" timer go to Settings > Security & Screen Lock > Automatically lock > Select desired time frame.
To adjust the "Sleep" setting go to Settings > Display > Sleep > Select desired time frame
If you are using facial recognition and do not want the "slide to unlock" to appear, set the "Automatic lock" timer to "5 seconds".
Power button instantly locks
There is an option in Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) which will automatically lock the device when the display is on and the power button is pressed. As soon as the power button is pressed your device will lock.
Note: The Power button instantly locks option will only show after a screen lock option (other than Slide) has been set.
To activate the "Power button instantly locks" setting, go to Settings > Security & Screen Lock > check the Power button instantly locks checkbox.
It is important to note your phone may contain security policies set by your IT administrator which may override any settings you attempt to set under screen security. For example, if you set your phone to automatically lock for 30 minutes and phone locks after 10 minutes, it may be due to security policies set by your IT Administrator. Please contact your IT Admin for more information.
For more information on using your new lock features select one of the quick links below:

How to unlock it

How to Unlock an Apple iTouch

Although locking your iPod Touch prevents accidental touch commands, the feature also prevents you from accessing your media and applications while the device is locked, according to the Apple site. The lock code is the 4-digit code that was created when the passcode lock was first enabled, and displays a passcode menu prompt on the iPod Touch's screen when the "Home" or "Power" button is pressed and the unlock bar is slid across the screen.

Instructions
1 Push the "Home" button on the iPod Touch's screen, or push the "Power" button on top of the device to show the home screen.
2 Slide your finger on the iPod Touch's unlock bar.
3 Enter the 4-digit passcode using the on-screen keypad to unlock the device. If you cannot remember the passcode, plug the dock-connector cable into the iPod Touch and plug the other end into your computer's USB port. According to Apple, the iPod Touch will automatically unlock after it is connected to your computer.

My screen has changed to black on my lg gs500.how to i get my phone working again? it is vibrating when i touch the screen and the alarm went off this morning. help please?

Depress the screen unlock button on the top right corner of phone. The phone has a touchscreen and when the phone is in idle, the auto lock feature activates to prevent the screen buttons from working. Auto lock can be disabled in settings. The screen lock usually has a semi transparent wallpaper screen but it may have been changed

Touchscreen not responding.

There are three levels of fixes, please try them in order:
1. Reset the GPS using the Reset button, on the back, just under the Antenna Hinge. Resetting will turn off the GPS, and then turn it back on, if connected to power. Test, if fixed, great, otherwise, go to fix 2.
2. Turn the power off, then press and hold the powerbutton for up to 2 minutes. The GPS will turn on, and display a "PreBoot Mode" message. When that message disappears, and the screen calibration screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions, and you are fixed. If you still cannot use the touch screen, repeat fixes 1 and 2 several times, just to be sure., then go to fix 3
3. The touch-screen glass has probably broken or lost its connection with the GPX motherboard. You can order new touch screen glass on the web and install yourself, if you are techy in nature, otherwise do a search for "garmin nuvi 660 repair" and choose your service.

Imate pdal touch

my mobile was in locked condition, and now my touch is not working..not even a single tap is working on mobile screen. i did soft as well as hard reset but every time the unlock screen appears after boot process. i can only press the unlock button on screen from the left button on mobile and cant press Unlock again because it is on the screen.
I believe in this situation, only two options can be used, One is to attach a Keyboard, or to access the mobile screen through any software on PC.
