Well you should have two sets, front and rear. Either of those sets can be used to go to the amp and it should work fine bridged. If your problem still exists then either you are getting a bad signal form the RCA outputs on the deck or have anouther problem somewhere in the system like in the amp or amp connections. What exactly does the amp do?

I tried copying a cd and once finished found the vocal track to be very faint on my cd-r. It has been a while since I used the player.

No stereo device can just lose the vocals if they're present in the input. Bits is bits.

You need to track it back to the source to make sure you're feeding it a good mixed-down stereo signal instead of just FRONT channels.

How do you hook up your ipod through the rca cable hookups in the back without the radio still playing?

This is different on every stereo, but generally the RCA ports in the back of the stereo are labeled "Aux" or something to that extent.

First, you must purchase a headphone jack to RCA cable which can connect to both your stereo and your ipod.

Connect the cable, turn your ipod on and start playing a song. Turn the volume on the stereo to a moderate volume so you can hear when the song is being played through your stereo. Then, using the selector switch, turn the stereo from "Radio" to "Aux" or whatever it says next to the the RCA plug ins on the back.

PIONEER DEH-1100 WIRING AND RCA PLUGS

You want to run the RCA's from your cd player to the amplifier. You want to run your front speakers off the speaker wires. I believe that is what you are asking.
Do you happen to have an after-market wiring harness for that cd player? That will save you a lot of problems! You can go to walmart and get one in most cases. Just look on the back and look for the model of the vehicle you need it for.
