    I've had a few D-Link wired/wireless routers and had problems with all of them. A few questions for you;

    1. Are you running Windows XP?

    2. Do all of the computers connected to the router show an assigned IP addrss in the network adapter details located under My Network Places?

    3. Do the computers have file sharing turned on and can you access a drive from a different computer?

    4. Is this only a problem when trying to access the internet, email?

What does this line mean? "It's reading all the other computers but isn't working."

Do you mean that the other computers are hard-wired to ports 1, 2, 3 & four on the back of the router? Or are you going totally wireless? Is your cable, or satellite modem plugged into the port labeled WAN?

1. Place the router in an open and central location. Do not plug the power adapter into the router.

2. Turn the power off on your modem. If there is no on/off switch, then unplug the modem’s power adapter. Shut down your computer.

3. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your modem and plug it into the WAN port on the router.

4. Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the four LAN ports on the router. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port on your computer.

5. Turn on or plug in your modem and wait for it to go through its boot cycle. It takes about 30 seconds. Watch the lights on the modem to tell when it has finished booting.

6. Plug the power adapter into your router. Again, wait about 30 seconds for the router to boot.

7. Turn on your computer.

8. Verify the link lights on the router. The power light, WAN light, and the LAN light for the port you plugged your computer into.

Now, open Internet Explorer (web browser) and in the Address line, type 192.168.0.1 and hit enter. You should see a login screen. Enter a user ID of admin and leave the password blank.

This should log you into the configuration utility for your router. You should see a Setup Wizard button that will walk you through setting up your router.

I have a D link 615 wireless router andand three dwa 130 network adapters. I cannot get the remote computers to work. They did work previously with an earlier system. I have called tech support but...

Hi! Ok, for first, you have to buy some good wifi antenna and position it so does they can see each other. Connect it with your adapter on each PC.
One PC should have one wifi adapter + one RG58 cable to the antenna and one wifi antenna. on teh router side it should be the same think.
Without a good signal you can not have a network because the week signal quality and the package are missing and the computer system will drop the communication and the result is no network.

Hi Friend,

Try to reset the router and if that does not work try hard reseting the router. In order to do that follw the steps:

Give power to the router.

-Turn the router off for 10 seconds
Turn it on, wait for the lights to get steady and solid.

Perform the above steps three times and then try to use the router. If these steps doesnot work as wll, kindly contact the vendor.

My husband bought a dlink router (it says dgl-4500 on it) and i cant figure out how to use it to get wireless internet for my new laptop....i have three "codes" he wrote down- a "router pass", a "network...

Router password is the password to access the router settings.
SSID is the network name. When you try to connect to the wireless network on your laptop, you will see this network name.
If your network is secured network then it will ask you for the network key or the password. You need to enter the ' security key '.

I have a Linksys modem with a netgear wireless router. The other night my internet just stopped working and now it is though the modem is not transmitting a signal. I have connected 2 different computers...

the ds light is for downstream which is your digital signal simply put...... if the light is not going solid to denote being :"online" there maybe signal related issues. rain will mess up the cable signals as the service is exposed to elements etc.....here is a trick i do with a modem that doesnt want to lock on to good signal.....reboot the damn thing...........give it a minute or two.. if the online light doesnt sync up solid....unscrew the cable connector on the back of the modem while it is powered up and wait 15 seconds////then screw it back on (needs to be hand tight, its like a water hose, if its loose you get signal loss) and give it 10 minutes......if it still doesnt lock up and go solid indicating online then call your cable company, you should not get charged for their service not working correctly..........it then would be something only a tech could fix. but if it does lock up and go solid ....hook up your router , power it up and give it a minute to sense the modem, restart the computer and you should be good to go...

Everytime i log on a 2nd computer, it logs out my 1st computer

Hi

lets resove your concern, i would suggest you to check the physical connection between the device.

their should be four lights on the router and connection would be like

1. Power light : looks like circle with a line in it
2. Wireless light ; looke like a radio signals
3. Internet light : looks like an i with a circle
4. any number light like 1,2,3,4 : any of these it will tell you that your computer is connected to that port of the router,

I believe their is only connection problem, once you made the corect connection you will able to go online.

Thanks
Harmeet :)

Belkin router signal not showing up for Wii or Laptop.

If no signal, check router config. Use your
internet browser to look at router's settings.
By default the password on most Belkin routers is left blank, and the default IP address is 192.168.2.1 Check all you router's wireless settings in case disabled or incorrect. Make sure the laptop's wifi button has been toggled to OFF. Routers do die - esp the lowend ones. New wireless G router = $20 on sale.

Di-624 stopped working

Hi sailaway!
. Make sure the router is going from the modem, to the port marked WAN, on the 624. You can test the cable, by plugging it directly into you computer, from the modem, if you want to. Disconnect the power from your modem, your router, and turn off your computer Wait 1 min. Turn on the Router, wait three full min's. Power up the 624, and wait one min. Power up the PC. Reason for the long wait on the modem is that it has to get data from the internet, to give to the router. If that don't hwlp, try changing the cable from the PC to the router, to a different port. If all that don't work, try resetting the router by gentley pressing a straightened out paperclip into the reset hole in the back. Hold it for 30 sec. If that fail resetting it, try holding it in while you unplug the 624 and plug it back in. If it resets, go thru the first steps to set it up again. If all that fails, your 624 may be bad. Had that happen to me. The steps I listed brought it back to life for about 2 months, and it died completely. Good Luck!
