Question about Compaq Computers & Internet
My computer don't read any CD or DVD....Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).
If its Vista you are using, right click on "computer", select "manage" a window will pop up, select "device manager" you will now see a list of devices, look down the list and locate the CD/DVD Rom, click on the + icon next to the CD/DVD, right click on it and select "uninstall". restart the machine and load windows up as usual, the drivers for the CD/DVD will install automatically and you should be able to use the CD/DVD Rom.
Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
