Use two screwdrivers as the pins and move them together as if they were a unit. Have someone else hold the filter for you.

I am juicing oranges with ths acme juicerator and all I get is thick sluge instead of licquid juice. Can you help me I have a lot of oranges to juice.

Not really designed for juicing oranges. There is a citrus attachment but it costs too much,
better off buying a $20 citrus juicer.

No crescent tool included with purchase to remove the blade

Make sure the Juicer is unpluged. What you need is the cresent tool or two metal objects to place in the two holes opposite each other and press down the metal objects in the holes while turning counter clockwise. It kind of acts like a lock and key system.

Taking the Jack Lalane power juicer apart

Maybe its the orange tool you're talking about. The tool has two ends. It fits in the blade. The blade has 2 holes. Fit it in the 2 holes and turn it to screw the blade out. Careful not to cut your hands.

There is the metal thingy that slides up over the upper unit.  Pull it towards your firmly.  Once it's down you can lift off the top housing.  Then you'll see the blade.  You need that little orange crescent tool to fit into the two holes in the blade.  Turning it will loosen.  Then the blade screws off (righty tighty, lefty loosey).  It's just a matter of taking off the parts then and washing them.  The screen thingy is easiest to wash from the outside with a nice scubby pad.  Reassembles same way.

Taking apart Jack Lalne power juicer to clean.

There are two holes on the surface of the blade. When the juicer was bought, it came with a half moon shaped orange tool that has two posts that fit into these two holes.

By inserting the tool into these holes you can unscrew the blade from the machine as long as you hold the outer screen while doing so.

Once this is done, you simply lift the other pieces off.

If you can't find your orange two prong tool, i would suggest using a screw driver or two that fit into the hole(or two)..... hold the orange screen and turn the blade counter-clockwise..

Hope this helps

Cleaning the strainer

I didn't have the appropriate "crescent tool" either, so I took a small screwdriver and while holding on to the outer orange sieve, I rotated the inner piece counter clockwise and it loosened so that I could fully disassemble the machine.

How to dissassemble Jack Lalanne Power Juicer?

After about a half hour I finally figured it out. I'll go through all the steps.

1. Remove pusher from chute.
2. Pull the locking bar down over the spout.
3. Remove lid.
4. This part is tricky. Stick the orange crescent tool into the blade holes and while holding the filter basket steady with one hand, turn the blade couterclockwise while pulling up.You do have put a little muscle into it. And remember, if you don't hold the filter steady, the whole damn thing just spins.
5. Remove the receptacle.

Good juicer, but it seems unnecessarily complicated.

Clean the pulp

yes you take it off with the orange handle (separate part)- it fits in two holes and you tighten or loosen it.

How to clean juicer

i had the same problem and figured out an easy way to open it without the tool. DO NOT take out the screws. I simply used chop sticks. I put one in each small hole and held the chop sticks in an X and turned the top counterclockwise!
