Re: L 6 code flashing
That is a laser fault. Normally the motor that turns the mirrors in the laser assembly is failing. You can also try this. take the back off the machine, there is a ribbon cable attached to the main board that I have seen unplugging and re connecting resolves an L6. about the best price I have seen on that laser is about $300. Google a business called "the parts drop". You can look up the part and price there. Honestly, that is one heck of a job replacing that laser. You pretty much have to split the machine in half to replace it.

L6 is polygon motor lock (in the laser unit). To try and reset on the keypad press P * C * (pound star clear star) and enter sim 14 and press copy button. the machine should restart if down right. If the code comes back the LSU unit will need to be replaced. Should be done by a trained tech.
An L6-10 code is a polygon motor failure in the copier's laser unit. It's what flashes the image to the system drum. If it won't clear after shutting down/unplugging the unit for 30+ seconds then the laser unit (the LSU) needs to be replaced. You'll need to contact a trained Sharp service representative to facilitate the repair.
L6:The Main PWB sensed a Polygon motor lock signal error.5-L6 only: Check the connector CN23 on the Main PWB and the wires and connectors on the Laser Module. If connector and wires are not damaged, replace laser module.
What that normally means is the laser mirror motor has failed.
That normal price for that item is normally over $300.
Here is a parts dealer to contact to see if they have it in stock.
L6 is a Polygon Motor Lock You could try to reset the machine with a simulation code 14, which to perform it: 1. Push Clear, Auto, Clear, Auto in a steady rythmic fashion. If done correctly the screen will go blank and all the lights will turn off. If done incorrectly wait 15 seconds then try again. Clear is the red "C" and auto is on the left hand side, the word auto directly above the button.
2. Once you're into this mode enter the number 14 as if you were doing 14 copies then push the green copy key.
If the L6 returns after the reset then you will need service on the machine, Sharp will fix it for a flat rate charge of $140.00 for parts and labor out of warranty. Give them a call 1800 237 4277 in this case.
