At about 4yrs of use for 2adults, it started giving the F/H error as well as making alot of noise when spinning. Think it will start walking soon..

For the entire duration of owning the machine, I've used mild detergents that doesn't sud much (but it was non-HE) and used 1/2 the recommended amount which is probably about 1-1.5 tablespoon, as well as running the extra rinse cycle on at least 1/2 the loads.

According to the A&E service person this error is due to using a non-HE detergent, it producing too much sud. He told me to run the machine w/o detergent until the visible suds are gone and to use a HE detergent afterward. Although I highly doubted that was the main source of the problem, that the errors would show up after 4yrs... I followed the instructions anyhow.

After 2 weeks, it's again giving F/H error on the 3rd or 4th consecutive load, even when using 1/2 of the recommended amount of HE detergent.

I believe that this (FH) code is one related to water not been able to get into the machine.

It would appear to be one of the many inherent design faults on this machine.

Checked all the water valve connections accordingly and they confirm that the water connection is fully opened.
If the cold water feed is not fully opened it could cause the machine's computer to give an error.
Once opened up all the way the machine should work just fine.

Also, don't use too much soap. 1 Tablespoon even less, is enough for small amount of water. Find a soap you like, and use the extra rinse cycle when you feel the need.

Thanks for using FixYa and please rate my response. :o)

F and H keep coming up on screen

The information provided is general. For information specific to your washer please resubmit the question, including the model number.

The "F" is at the beginning of all error codes. This indicates the a Fault has taken place. The second number or letter indicates what the Fault is.

FH : Is displayed when no water has been detected entering the washer.

If the control has turned on the fill valve and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water and not detected a pressure switch trip, the valve will be turned off and the failure code will flash in the display

Unplug the washer from its electrical source and wait for 30 seconds.
Replug the cord into the electrical source and try to start a normal cycle or a cancel drain cycle.
The machine should start the pump out mode and empty the water.

If, after 30 second, the machine has not detected water entering into the machine, the valves will be shut off and the failure code of FH will be displayed.

Check all hose connection and valves, both hot and cold, are turned on completely.
Verify that water is at the fill hose connections at the back of the washer.
The main control has sensed a component failure in the machine and will be needing a diagnostic visit for a possible repair or replacement.

Hope helps (remember to rating this free answer and leave a comment)

FH IS FLASHING ON THE WASHER AND IT HAD STOPPED WORKING ONLY 5 MNUTES INTO ITS CYCLE

Hello,

The FH error code means the computer on the control board didnt detect any water entering the washer..sometimes it doesnt detect the water entering because the filter screens on the water inlet valve are clogged with sediment and water is having a hard time entering the washer.

The filter screens can be checked by turning off water at the faucets and disconnecting the fill hoses from the back of the machine and pop the scrrens out of where the hoses connect at the washer and check for blockage in them. If they are found to be clean check the water coming out of the hoses before connecting them back to the washer...if the screens are clean and water pressure is good out of the hoses the part of the washer called the FLOW METER would need to be replaced

My washer keeps flashing and saying FH or Hf ... what does this mean?

Check to make sure you are getting a good supply of water to the washer. Remove hoses at the washer and make sure the filter screens are not clogged.

My Whirlpool Duet ht Washer starts washing fine, it drains then it starts flashing FH and wont take in water for the rinse cycle. It does this for every cycle, it will wash fine but after it drains and is...

The first thing I would check is shut off the cold water valve at the wall and remove the hose at the washer.carefully pry out the little screen in the inlet and clean well, reconnect hose and turn water back on FH is a water inlet issue I am hoping that what is happening is that when the washer starts its wash cycle it is probably filling with warm (hot) and cold water at the same time even though it might be mostly hot,but when it comes time to rinse (cold water ) there is not enough to make the computer happy and you get your FH error.. Hope this Helps,,If not your probley looking at a new fill valve assy

Kenmore elite he3 flashing FH

The following link explains the "FH" error:

This can be a rather tough one to figure out, even with the error code explanation. I would recommend unplugging the washer for AT LEAST 30 minutes first. This will reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). In many cases this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code reappears, check your washer installation to rule out the easiest possiblities, first. This means checking to ensure you don't have a siphoning condition, checking your drain lines and checking to ensure your fill hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Read through the link thoroughly and let me know if you have questions. I hope this helps you.
