I had a CD for picture package for sony camera, the cd didn't open on vista nothing open but it works on XP, is there any way to solve this problem

Since it works on XP, I would suggest running it in XP compatibility mode. Go into the CD through MY COMPUTERS and right click on the setup file, then go to properties and then Compatiability. Check the box that says "Run this program in compatability mode for:" and select Windows XP SP3. Then also check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator". These steps should allow you to be able to run your installation process.

While adobe photoshop 7.0 installation, error -115 is coming. Can you please assist me regarding this installation problem.

The probable causes could be due to Data for CD not transfering during the installation.
Here some options you can try,
1. Infected PCs. (Scan PC for virus & malwares)
2. Dirty or bad CD installer. (Use another CD)
3. HDD space for the installation.(Remove some of your data for space allocations)
4. Security Programs running in the background. (Disabled any Security Programs before installations)
5. Too many junk files in your "temp" folder. (Use the CCleaner to clean up your PC and reinstall the program.)

Hope it helps & good luck.

I have been given a used nikon d40x but it did not have an installation CD with it . I have been trying to download photos onto my PC but it didn`t work , so is there a place I could buy one from ?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

You can download the current versions of all (free) Nikon software from

How do install my web cam

Dear first, make sure you follow the instructions from your camera manufacturer to ensure the proper installation of your camera.

This involves inserting the camera installation CD, being guided through a few steps for installation, and restarting your computer. Plugging in the camera's USB cord at the incorrect time during the camera software installation procedure can cause various problems.

To reinstall your webcam:

Uninstall any existing camera installations. Click "Start," "Settings," "Control Panel," and "Add/Remove Programs." From the list, choose your webcam software and click Remove.

Unplug the camera's USB cord from the computer.

Reboot your computer.

Insert your camera's setup/installation CD.
Follow the instructions described by the camera setup program, and plug in your camera only when prompted. This is usually done after restarting your computer.

Best regard.

Printer and camera installation

First backup all of your data (Documents, Pictures, email). CD or DVD is good for this. The procedures below could cause you to loose data. Continue at your own risk.

Your problem is not easily fixable, because your MS installer is corrupted. There are two ways to approach this.

If you are using Windows XP then try restoring back several months, or a year. This may fix the installer, but it has never worked for me.

You could attempt to repair the Operating system by booting to the recovery CD.

The only good answer is to reinstall the operating system by using the recovery CD.
