"out of memory" message then printing to screen and printer

I have Windows XP Edition 2005. When I try to print a Microsoft Spreadsheet I get an error message stating microsoft is 'out of memory'.I had a computer tech here and he said I had to many anti Viris programs on my computer. He removed all of them and installed a new one only. H e clamined that there is adequate memory in my machine.Howerver this did not correct my memory problem. I increased the virtual memory to 1500 to 4000 and this didn"t help either

First try performing a disk cleanup.
press start
accessories
system tools
disk cleanup
when the box finally pops up there will be a box that says files to delete. go through the list and click all of the boxes.then click ok.

if that doesn't work
after that you need to go to msconfig although I only recommend this if you really understad computers

click start
click run
type in msxonfig
click ok

a box should pop up
click the start up tab
check any box that is a program that you use
do not click any of the boxs that are microsoft programs as this can possibly make your computer not start up again.
next go to the tab services
and do the same for that tab. once you are done click apply, then ok. the computer will ask you to restart. click ok. if it doesn't ask you to restart then you should restart using the start menu, do not use the power button.
when your computer reboots a message should appear, check the little box and click ok.

this should take care of your problem.
if not then you need to go through and remove some unecassary progams from your computer.
click start
then control panel
then click add and remove programs
it might take a while for the list to populate
go down the list and uninstall any programs that you don't use including any games or programs that you downloaded off the internet as the are what are called bloat ware they are called this because they eat up memory and resources that important programs need.

if you don't feel completely comfortable with doing these things you should take your computer in to a service center and have them do what is called an optimization.

either the steps i gave you or the optimization at a service center should take care of your problem. if not you will need to reinstall the operating system. make sure you back up important files as reinstalling the operating system will delete everything on your hard drive.

hope this helped.
best of luck.

The dreaded "Out of Memory" error is relatively easy to fix when you're talking storage (short-term solution: delete a file; long-term solution: buy a new hard drive). But when it comes to the other kind of memory, also known as RAM (random-access memory) — that's the internal kind of memory your computing device uses — things can get a little bit more complicated.

SYMPTOMS
When you try to print or when you try to preview a spreadsheet or a database file in Microsoft Works, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Microsoft Works Out of Memory

CAUSE
This problem may occur if there is a problem with the printer driver that is installed on your computer.

there are three methods to resolve this problem

Uninstall all the antivirus and then try. If the problem is solved then install only one antivirus and then try and also remove the unused software from startup and from services because it takes too much time to start your pc.

If you only get the message with one particular file, then the file may be corrupted, in this case copy and paste the content of your spreadsheet into a new Excel file.

If you get the error message with all spreadsheets, then the Excel installation is bad, and Office must be re-installed, in this case reinstall Office.

Check also that your hard drive is not full , virtual memoy paging uses the hard drive to save the content of RAM dinamically, if the hard disk is full you can get out of memory error.

If the memory installed on your computer is less than 512MB, then you meay need to increase the RAM. Newer version of Office do not work well on computer with less than 512 MB RAM.

Have Microsoft Windows XP.....purchased HP Officejet J5780 all in

Before you print, look at the print preview. If it shows your document, then the problem is with the printer. If the page is shown blank, the problem is different. Check your Print dialogue screen (File menu, then Print to see the dialogue screen) . have a look what you have selected under the item Page Range. I believe you have clicked SELECTION without actually selecting anything on the document. If that is the case, undo it by clicking on another option
Best of luck

"out of memory" message then printing to screen and printer

You would need to increase your virtual memory and restart your computer. Windows XP:

Right click my computer, go to properties
Select the advanced tab
Click advanced tab
Click change under virtual memory.
Set virtual memory 1500 to 4000
click set and apply, ok
If the memory is set higher, select a higher number.
This should resolve your issue.

Printer "out of memory"

The problem isn't your printer. The problem is with your Microsoft Works software. I know of six solutions that may work.

1) Download the latest service pack for .NET Framework 1.1. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A8F5654F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38&displaylang=en

2) Go to this website and download the update. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=65f5b806-e6a1-4f92-a656-e56eeda67e3d&displaylang=en

3) Uninstall printer completely (again). Unplug the printer from the computer. Reboot computer. Download the lastest driver from HP website. When installing the driver software, choose (type)a different directory,( ie. C:\MYHP\HP4180\ ). Plug Printer back to computer.

4) Go to this website. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841220

5) Click START, click RUN, type SPOOL. Double click printer folder, clear (delete) any files in this folder.

6) Download the latest version of Microsoft Works 9.0.

Let me know if this works.
