Question about Konica Minolta magicolor 2300DL Laser Printer

Media jam fuser

My machine worked well, till my sabatical of 6 months. After that the paper wrinkles and I often got the massage 'media jam fuser'.
Then I cleaned the machine according to the manual. After that I tryed to print a configuration page and that worked well. Then I printed a document and that was printed well too. But with the next document the machine gave again the message 'media jam fuser'. The paper is not wrinkled any more, but jammed. Also the machine gives often the sign 'put media in tray' when there is already paper in the tray.

Does anyone know what I can do about it?

The mylar around the upper roller on the fuser is wrinkled and coming off. There is an indentation in the roller that is the length of the roller and straight. Is there something in the machine that is causing the indentation and affecting the mylar?

I turned the printer off, took the power cable out, and turned the printer on. After 60 seconds I turned the printer off, put the power cable back in and turned the printer again on. This is a solution in order to loose all the voltage/current build up in the printer. Whether this is the solution or just coincidental, I don't know. The printer worked well after that.

Analyse what type of jam it is...based on that we can shoot the trouble.1. Paper is jamming before entry in fuser and its folds like curl in the cartridge area.. A. Fuser Teflon sleeve not rotating or slow rotation results media(paper)unable to reached the destination in specified interval. Replace fuser assm or Teflon sleeve.2. Paper jamming after fuser assembly crossed little bit ( approx 1-2 inch).A. Clean fuser out paper sensor, check sensor flag & flag spring located in fuser assm.3. 202 paperjam open rear door. My printer did have a paper jam and we removed all the paper we could find, but that message won't go away and it hasn't worked since! HELP!

Hello and Welcome to FixYa

Start by following the steps below to get the paper out from the machine.
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Advanced

If that doesn't help then you would have to start taking apart the machine to find the jammed paper and remove it, its not something a just anyone should do unless you have experience.

you may have to take the machine to a repairer to get the jammed paper bits out of the machine, if you don't see paper jammed in the machine it does not mean that there wouldn't be a paper jam somewhere in the unit along the paper path. Some of the switches or sensors might have gotten stuck.

Hello, my Brother MFC-7420 started a few months ago to wrinkle the sheets, like an accordion. a technician said is the fusor and another technician says it is the drum, which one is right?

The fuser is most likely your candidate. A drum transfers the image onto the paper, but the transfer is made with an electric charge. The fuser applies heat and pressure to bond the toner to the paper.

If the fuser rollers are worn or there's heavy buildup on them, they will cause the paper to skew, crease and/or jam.

In the case of the paper bunching up and looking like an 'accordion', if this happens at the entrance guide to the fuser assembly, you're pretty much guaranteed the fuser's either jammed or defective.

Paper feeder jams and crinkles the paper up

there is a set of stripper fingers that kiss the fuser roller and paper is jamming up aginst that area

FIX

Open the fuser section door and front door Look at the fuser roller from exit and front door If there is a wiper pad (slides in on a rod from the side of the machine) remove it and put some fuser oil on it

go to area where you find the paper folding up and observe the stripper fingers for any blockage

If there is some bits of toner on the fingers clean them with a q tip and alcohol

take your finger ( make sure machine has cooled and you have unplugged from wall) and press up against the stripper fingers to se if there is movement (some coiers have a solenoid that activates the striper fingers)

The fuser oil hels keep the fuser roller clean and keeps paper from sticking on rollers

Try the copier if this does not fix i believe you have a problem with a solenoid which will require a sevice call

If you want to observe the paper coming through the fuser rollers and seeing if the fingers activate
ou can trip the safety swithes in the doors and exits and observe

Best of luck to you

E3 paper jam

if the paper is crooked it will come out wrinkled. If not the print is crooked indicating a different problem.
You wil have to look at the paper as it is printing, to see where it is catching, paper ramp maybe ( before the fuser entrance), exit rollers? ( only place I know there are bristles)

E3 is : paper jam in fuser

also check fingers or claws on fuser they catch the paper if worn.

Phaser 7700GX Color Printer prints wrinkled pages!

when this occurs the problem is most of the time with the transport roller, fuser / fixing assembly roller.question is the image still toner only and not fused to the paper.
In these areas there is offen a jammed and not removed piece of paper dislodged in the paper path or jammed in the fuser or the transfer rollers teflon coating has perished inspect the areas carefully and remove any found if the unit still is faulty (fanning of paper the fuser would be the first to be replaced are past there usable life) if so then Post a reply

Paper completely wrinkled

NONERIGHTNOW, HP makes great laser printers, the commercial LaserJets typically last 8+ years without much more than an occasional maintenance kit to keep them going. The 1000 series printers are quite another story, they are designed for the low end printer market and just can?t take hard usage over time. The typical culprits with paper wrinkling are heat from the fuser or paper problems. -In the paper tab of the printer driver make sure the correct media is selected. This controls how hot the fuser gets which also causes paper curl/wrinkling. -Buy some fresh HP grade paper, improper humidity, coatings and storage can also cause problems. -Try a new HP cartridge. If you still have no success starts a print job and turn off the printer while the paper is feeding. What you want to do is try to freeze the wrinkling process so we can identify what area is causing it. Post this information. Also open the rear, straight through door; also let us know what happens. Let us know how it goes and please don?t forget to rate this posting.
