I have a intertherm m1m furnace and the red light blinks 2 times indicating the pressure switch is open how do I correct this problem

The pressure switch is a pressure sensing device to ensure the system is operating within the parameters for which it was designed. The pressure switch on the positive pressure side of the combustion air fan when tripped indicates a flu blockage which will limit the amount of flu gasses passing through the heat exchanger. I would suggest checking the flu for a blockage and if there is a second pipe (combustion air), you should check it also as with either blocked, the proper operation of the pressure switches is in jeopardy.

You cannot bypass the pressure switches because the algorithym in the control module will see that the pressure switch is in the wrong position at the moment a call for heat was initiated.

If there are no flue blockages apparent but you find that there is no screen on the end of the flu pipe or pipes, you may still have a blockage in the form of a dead bird. They like to roost inside the openings of the pvc pipes for warmth, then die of carbon monoxide poisoning and block the pipe. Sometimes they even make their way the full horizontal length and die at an elbow and fall directly on top of the flu opening on top of the furnace. I have had to make numerous cuts to locate blockages before.

My furnace is flashing four times on model number dgaa090bdta I would like to try changing out the dual element time delay fuse. I have an extra one. Where is it located?

That's a coleman brand furnace and the four blinks of the green LED light indicate that the lower limit switch is currently open which would indicate an overheating issue. This would cause the gas valve to not open and thus no flame and no heat. Likely, the switch is just bad and needs to be replaced. Here is a source for the switch: http://www.hvacpartstore.com/2409.html . The switch is located right next to the electronics control panel un the upper section of the furnace. You can try turning off the power and taking the switch out and tap on it a few time or try to flex the snap sensor a little bit on the back side. That might get it working temporarily until you can get a new on. Just don't try to bypass the switch or modify it all since it is very necessary for saftey.

Why does the led on my furnace control bd flash three times

Hello, this indicates a open limit switch. A limit l switch will open when the temp in the heat exchanger gets too high and this switch shuts the Furnace down for safety. Usuaully a dirty filter, weak blower motor, dirty blower wheel will cause a limit switch to open.

I have a 15 year old York 80 diamnond unit and i have four flashes which tells me to open up limit? how do i do that? thanks.

A limit switch opens when the heat exchanger gets too hot. To check the switch with a meter turn the power to the furnace off, then disconnect the wires from the switch and set a meter to resistance, if the switch is open the meter will indicate infinite resisitance. There are several reasons why a limit switch opens and some of those reasons are
1) dirty air filter
2) the gas pressure on the gas valve is set too high
3) a problem with the blower motor

What are the carrier 8000ts led error codes?

They are listed inside the front panel of the main unit.

LED CODE

EACH OF THE FOLLOWING STATUS CODES IS A TWO DIGIT NUMBER WITH THE FIRST

DIGIT DETERMINED BY THE NUMBER OF SHORT FLASHES AND THE SECOND DIGIT BY

THE NUMBER OF LONG FLASHES.

STATUS

11 NO PREVIOUS CODE - Stored status code is erased automatically after 72

hours. On RED LED boards stored status codes can also be erased when power

(115 VAC or 24 VAC) to control is interrupted.

12 BLOWER ON AFTER POWER UP (115 VAC or 24 VAC) -Blower runs for 90

seconds, if unit is powered up during a call for heat (R-W closed) or R-W opens

during blower on-delay.

13 LIMIT CIRCUIT LOCKOUT - Lockout occurs if the limit or flame rollout switch is

open longer than 3 minutes.

- Control will auto reset after three hours. - Refer to #33.

14 IGNITION LOCKOUT - Control will auto-reset after three hours. Refer to #34.

21 GAS HEATING LOCKOUT - Control will NOT auto reset.

Check for: - Mis-wired gas valve -Defective control (valve relay)

22 ABNORMAL FLAME-PROVING SIGNAL - Flame is proved while gas valve is

de-energized. Inducer will run until fault is cleared. Check for:

- Leaky gas valve - Stuck-open gas valve

23 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT OPEN Check for:

- Obstructed pressure tubing. - Pressure switch stuck closed.

24 SECONDARY VOLTAGE FUSE IS OPEN Check for:

- Short circuit in secondary voltage (24VAC) wiring.

31 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT CLOSE OR REOPENED - If open longer than

five minutes, inducer shuts off for 15 minutes before retry. Check for:

- Excessive wind - Proper vent sizing - Defective inducer motor

- Low inducer voltage (115VAC) - Defective pressure switch

- Inadequate combustion air supply - Restricted vent

- Disconnected or obstructed pressure tubing

- Low inlet gas pressure (if LGPS used)

If it opens during blower on-delay period, blower will come on for the selected

blower off-delay.

33 LIMIT CIRCUIT FAULT - Indicates a limit, or flame rollout is open. Blower will

run for 4 minutes or until open switch remakes whichever is longer. If open

longer than 3 minutes, code changes to lockout #13. If open less than 3 minutes

status code #33 continues to flash until blower shuts off. Flame rollout switch

requires manual reset. Check for: - Restricted vent

- Proper vent sizing - Loose blower wheel - Excessive wind

- Dirty filter or restricted duct system.

- Defective blower motor or capacitor. - Defective switch or connections.

- Inadequate combustion air supply (Flame Roll-out Switch open).

34 IGNITION PROVING FAILURE - Control will try three more times before lockout

#14 occurs. If flame signal lost during blower on-delay period, blower will come

on for the selected blower off-delay. Check for: - Control ground continuity

- Flame sensor must not be grounded

- Oxide buildup on flame sensor (clean with fine steel wool).

- Proper flame sense microamps (.5 microamps D.C. min., 4.0 - 6.0 nominal).

- Gas valve defective or gas valve turned off - Manual valve shut-off

- Defective Hot Surface Ignitor

- Low inlet gas pressure

- Inadequate flame carryover or rough ignition

- Green/Yellow wire MUST be connected to furnace sheet metal

45 CONTROL CIRCUITRY LOCKOUT Auto-reset after one hour lockout due to;

- Gas valve relay stuck open - Flame sense circuit failure

- Software check error

Reset power to clear lockout. Replace control if status code repeats.

If status code recall is needed, briefly remove then reconnect one main limit wire to display

stored status code. On RED LED boards do not remove power or blower door before initiating

status code recall. After one status code recall is completed component test will occur.

Thanks for Choosing FixYa.

My Ruud silhouette II some times will not operate. I the room temperature is below the thermostat setpoint and the status indicator on it says ''System On.'' I The unit and the green ''OK'' LED is flashing...

4 Blinks is an error code of a sticking pressure switch. A pressure switch is a safety, which in this case is being used to verify that your furnace is drafting properly. Yours in particular is sticking in the closed position even after the call for heat is satisfied. The control board checks to make sure the switch is open the next time there is a call for heat, and when it sees that the pressure switch is already closed even before the draft inducer motor comes on, it knows there is a problem....hence the error code. If you tap on the pressure switch, it may cause the contacts to open. Usually you will see a rubber hose attached to the pressure switch and 2 or three wires depending on what type of switch it is. You will probably have to replace the switch, but maybe this will get you thru the night. Hope this helps!

Heat does not work when thermostat calls for heat...

This is a safty limit switch. Find two wires that are going to the inducer or combustion blower that terminates to a small disk about the size of a penny. In the middle of those two wires should be a small button. Push firmly down thus reseting the switch. This should do it. It could also be the pressure switch but I have never heard it called that before. If the first doesn't fix the issue. Remove the small tube that runs from the inducer to a black or silver disk, blow out and draw in air until you hear clicking noises. Sometimes they can become stuck. If that doesn't work, remove the other end of the tube from the pressure switch and blow through it. Sometimes debris can clog the entrance to the pressure switch as well. Hopefully this will solve your problem. You can have a bad limit or a bad pressure switch. In this case you will probably have to call someone out.

I have a Carrier Weathermaker SXi. Furnance will not turn on. I shut power off and waited ten minutes and tried to restart. Codes flashing are 12, 31, 32, 33, 41, 42. Can this be started in emergency mode?

Emergency heat is made for this kind of situation. So yes you can.
now for the codes.
code 12= Blower on after power up
code 31=High heat pressure switch or relay didn't close or reopened
code 32=Low heat pressure switch or relay didn't close or reopened
code 33=limit circuit fault(Flame rollout switch is open)
code 41=board fault
code 42=control lockout

P-tac unit shutting off

Start the unit and check unit data ( suction pressure, discharge pressure, current reading voltage reading, check if no icing at compressor suction pipe and evaporator coil) if everything is normal. check the fallowing.
- check for out of range pressure switches. By pass pressure switches and start the unit if the unit continue to run check which of the pressure switch is open while the unit is running.
- check for defective timer and magnetic contactor or control rely.
- if the unit installed with freeze up sensor then check it also.
- Or the control by itself.
