Re: HP photosmart c7280 wireless problem
Your wireless printer might frequently lose its communication with the computer and hence might not print all the documents when you want. Such an issue arises when there is interference in the wireless signals between the printer and the computer. get more information for HP Wireless Printer Problems .Hope this helps you.

run the wireless setup wizard on the printer from the front panel menus of the printer...this would assign an IP address to the printer from the router...then use the s/w cd that came along with the printer and get the drivers and s/w installed on your computer....if you want a wireless connection it would give you approprite options
Scanning thru a wireless connection is not supported on these printers. Printing does not require that much data to be sent back to the computer, scanning of course does. Printers require a bi-directional signal path to allow scanning such as USB and parallel ports. Sorry to be the barer of bad news.
Buddy Corporate Computer Over 21 years supporting/repairing PCs and printers
there are 2 types of wireless installation 1 is infrastructure and the other one is Adhoc
in Infrastructure the computer and the printer are connected through a router this is a permanent sort of connection
and remains even if the computer is shut down
but the Adhoc connection is a short duration connection in which the computer and the printer are directly connected
and the connection is lost as soon as the printer or the computer is turned off
so its always recommended to connect teh printer using the infrastructure mode so that you do not face any problem
I am not an expert, only a c7280 user. I use my printer wirelessly and was having problem scanning when using the controls directly on the printer (scan menu). By trial and error, I tried scanning by going to HP solution center on my computer and just followed the directions from the scan menu. That worked. If you can print wirelessly, you can scan wirelessly. I agree the HP support is a huge waste of time. I only get mad talking to them.
Download latest driver bundle (198mb) and the network reliabilty patch. Install the HP software choosing Connected via USB. Install the network reliability patch from the C7280 downloads page. Re-run the 198mb installer and choose Add a Device.
My experience is different. My DSL router died in the night and I had to install the old one. I just changed the wireless settings on my C7280, and now all three connections work. If no wire (ethernet or USB) is connected, the wireless connection works. If the Ethernet cable is connected, it works via Ethernet, and if the USB cable is connected, it works via USB. It seems to default in that order.
