Question about Compaq Presario sr1111nx 2.53GHz Celeron Computer (SR1111NXRB) PC Desktop
I have a compaq laptop and the little light below a picture of 3 discs constantly flashes. the light flashing is next to the charge light and power light. do u know how to stop this or is it normal?? help much appreciated
You did not mention which laptop model you have, which makes a diagnostic a little bit difficult.
The light you describe (3 discs) indicates that either the internal hard drive or optical drive is being accessed.
That is generally ok, if you read or write from your hard drive or you have a CD/DVD running.
It CAN indicate that you do not have sufficient memory installed and the RAM can't handle all the requests, so it has to write and read constantly to and form the hard drive. This is called "Memory swapping". This happens also if you are not doing anything that involves the hard or CD drive (in idle).
This would answer your question, but if you need any other information, come back here and let me know. In that case it would be helpful to know which operating system you are running and how much RAM you have installed.
