Did you try cleaning the output jack with a q-tip and alcohol? Otherwise you might have to send the unit to garmin if it is worth it to you.

No sound when put on 88.3 fm

I didn't think this unit had an included FM transmitter - so I looked around for more info, and everything I've found indicates it does not.

It will however play audio via the built-in speaker or headphone jack. Use of a third party FM transmitter will allow playing audio (navigation, alerts, MP3 or audio books) when connected to the headphone jack and with both the FM transmitter and FM radio set to the same frequency.

The FM transmitter will work best when set to a frequency that is unused and has the least amount of interference from adjacent stations. Check by tuning the car radio across the FM band and note frequencies that have those qualities. Leave the radio on one of the clear frequencies and set the FM transmitter to the same displayed on the radio. You should try several to find the one that works best. Also, be aware that as you travel, you may enter an area where that frequency (or one close by) is in use by a broadcaster. This will require repeating the process as needed to reduce interference.

Try plugging the bus cable into the other port on the XM module. If you have it in the wrong one, you can control it, see channel names but get no sound.

AUDIO/SOUND

The internal audio amplifier is defective. If you don't want to send it back to garmin and pay their flat rate of $175.00 for repair (I didn't ) then by all means do so. If not then go to Radio Shack and purchase a battery operated amplified speaker. It is small and plugs easily into the side of your unit. Best of all it's only ($14.95) It works great because it bypasses the internal speaker and the sound id just as good if not better then the garmin speaker- You can control the volume by using the settings on your unit. The other alternitive is to purchase an FM transmitter. By pluging this into the unit it will transmit the voice into your car radio. the only problem is that you havwe to have it tunned to one station and won't be able to listen to your radio. Its sad that garmin does not repair thes units for a better price especially when they know there is problems with these speakers. I foe one will never buy another GArmin product and i tell everyone i know about this and advise them the same. Hopes this helps !!!

My Garmin StreetPilot 2730 won't hold its settings.

Do a hard reset.

Turn the unit off, then hold down the menu and map buttons, simultaneously, then turn the unit back on and continue to hold down the buttons down for at least five more seconds, then the unit will power up. At that point it's like the unit is being used for the first time and you will have to reset everything. You will lose your XM presets, but the MP3's were still there.

Also after if this does not work, plug in your garmin and mount it, mac or pc whatever, then go in your garmin file erase all maps should be gmapsupp.img or gmapprom.img. Reload your maps from mapinstall.

Loading mp3 files to garmin nuvi 350

The device is not recognizing the file name. The Garmin GPS will only recognize MP3 files. Ipod (MP4) and other media files will not play. Converting the files to the MP3 format will correct the problem.

Loose XM antenna connection for garmin 2730

Try cleaning the end of the antenna with alcohol and a qtip. Also the unit itself. Are you able to hook up usb no problem? If so it is the antenna. It is either dirty or broken.
