Your DVD drive is not working properly it seems that its lens is weak. For this problem you can contact any laptop reparing farm they may provide you a internal DVD reader just like you have on your laptop.
Or else you can buy an external DVD drive. Now a days these are less costlier and easily available in the market. You can go for LG,ASUS,Enter etc.

My driver wont read anything it said insert disc

If the disks work in some other CD/DVD reader, then it's time to replace the CD/DVD reader in your computer. Take the computer to a qualified technician -- this is not a "user-replaceable" part -- to get the job done correctly.

My Hp SD card reader doesn't work how can I make it work again?

Did you insert the memory card properly? because if your memory card is not inserted properly, the SD card reader may seem not to work. And if probably the problem is from the SD card reader slot, then you have to give it to an engineer for repair or better still take your laptop to Hp customer service center for repair. Thanks

My Toshiba Satellite A135-S2246 CD/DVD isn't working properly?

download and install the FIRMWARE UPDATE for your Optical Drive (check on pc's manufacturer website)

You can check also the original configuration of your laptop.(DVD format if +/-)

Second maybe your computer dont have the DVD player application installed.

Third Update your windows Media Codecs or install DVD player software

T23 coming with a 27L4355 dvd drive

All cd/dvd drives can read data cds.

Install cds and dvds for operating system installs are in data format.

If the drive is working properly, this will be no problem.

BTW, there's so such thing as a stupid question

'Hope this helps.

DVD Drive Issue

This sounds as if the DVD drive is going out. Instead of sending it in for service, ask if they can send you a new drive, and have you return the old one after recieving the new.

Right click anywhere on the desktop, open the screen saver tab, click on the power button at the bottom. You'll see a box that reads monitor, set this to never. That should take care of the screen shutting down. As far as the orange light, I'm guessing that's the battery light, and it's time for a new battery.(It should be green and flashes orange when the battery no longer works properly)

While Playing the DVD

You probably need to clean out the pc. Get rid of programs that are not needed or used. Do a "Disk Cleanup", Defrag until it takes only about 1-2 min to complete. Get an Anti-spyware/malware as well as an Anti-spyware program and run it once a week. You might want to also invest in more RAM. 512mb these days isnt much.
