Acer laptop aspire 4710z config my notebook have problem
when I buy it I installed window xp, it work properly, after some time it attacked by virus. then I formate it and again installed win xp and all drivers given in driver cd. Now when I click on shut down or restart, it shows saving yours settings after that show window is shutting down... but never shutdown. so I shut down it by hand from switch. Please help me, I buy it in Nov 2007..

There could be an issue with the user accounts logins. This could be corruption in the OS when you installed it or a clashing driver . I would recommend you reinstall the Operating System with the Disks and before you start installing the drivers try to shut down and see if it shuts down properly . If it does then you know the Operating system and hardware is all fine and can continue installing one driver at a time and shutdown and restarting, continue doing this until you see which driver is causing a confict with your system. I have had a problem similar to this but it was some windows updates pack that I had done one time and had to reinstall windows too and do one by one. Hope my answer gets you closer to a solution.
The drivers for Windows can be used if no specific Linux drivers exist. There's a program within Linux called NDisWrapper which is designed to use the drivers provided for Windows XP in Linux. Refer to your particular distribution of Linux for the details on how to set up NDisWrapper from within your distribution (I've only done it in Ubuntu so have no experience of other distros)

hi, if u have the orignal bill, ACER has international warranty, u can take it to any ACER service center, or try uninstalling the video drivers and reinstalling it. if that does not solve, then u need to go to ACER.let me know
