Question about Konica Minolta bizhub 180 All-In-One Printer

When I try to scan a document to my email the machine comes up with 'cannot connect to SMTP' message. How do I solve this????

The outgoing service SMTP settings are incorrect or the service is not functioning right now.

I recommend to double check your outgoing mail settings and also who is your email provider? I will get you the settings you need to use so we can get it to work.

    You get the error message on device and not on your computer screen?



    is bizhub 180 the model you have there?

    The scanner requires a smtp service to be present in the LAN - NETWORK it is connected to.



    The scanner alone isn't able to send emails.




    Everything has to go through a email server (smtp server).

    (if you are unable to open the manual right click on it and select save as, save it to your desktop or a place you will find it. Then install a pdf reader -free download here http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intr..., after the software is installed open the manual again and it should work fine)





    You will need to get the smtp server ip address (and many other small details) from your network administrator or the guy who manages the network.



    If you don't have a smtp server the email scanning function wont work at all.



    how to open and edit the smtp/email settings on the device are covered in page 3-16 (chapter 3 page 16).



    all the details you need on setting it up are there, then you will just need to contact the administrator or network management in your company or someone who knows those things.



    ones you have the proper details use the manual to enter the correct settings or have them do it.

It is a problem with the network connection, if you are using scan router recheck the configuration settings in case of scan to email check connection with smtp server, port no. ssl on or off and do the connection test, check mail server authentication, rest assured it is not a problem with the machine or GW controller.

We cannot scan to email from our Sharp AR-M237 Multi-function "Error[973]: Incorrect format for Primary SMTP Server." I am using all the settings for SMTP that I use everywhere else. HELP?-pjm


Model AR-M257 - I have several Sharp MFP devices at different locations and all are set up to scan through our email server using a special account I have just for this purpose. I have all of them setup using the external IP address of our Exchange server (not its name or FQDN) and I have firewall rules setup to allow SMTP from the WAN IP addresses of our different offices to the LAN IP address of the Exchange server. It worked at all the others but this one. I was getting the following error when trying to send a status message (under Log) from the device to my email account as a test: [error 973] incorrect format for primary smtp server. And when I tried to scan through our email server I would get "network error". However, a connection test succeeded. I had everything set correctly for SMTP and DNS but as I was trying anything I could to get it working I went to mDNS under Services and it was enabled. I disabled it and then I could get a status message to be sent to me and we could send a scan through our email server.

Use SMTP relaying. Set up a computer with SMTP relaying. Go into the Remote Setup Program for your Brother MFC and select Setup Server. Use the IP address of that PC in the Server Settings and set Auth for SMTP to None. Worked great for me. smtp settings? They are readily available in your email account settings in Outlook, or outlook express, whatever you use. You should just need to put in all of the pertinent email settings like smtp, pop, user name , password, DNS, etc. Not being familair at all with this machine. I might just suggest that if your outgoing email requires authentication, that is, sometimes a conflict that cannot be overcome with some scan to email machines.

When you scan a document it must be scanned with OCR software. The default scanning method will scan a document as a picture, not a document with letters and words. The OCR software will recognize the letters and put the scanned document in the proper format to open it with MS Word. The software that you scan with should have a setting for OCR, read your instructions or help files to get the details if you can not find them very easy in the software you use for scanning. .

The problem with using Outlook may be that you have not set it up properly to get your emails from your email server. You do not need to use Outlook or Outlook express to send any documents, you can use your web based email server if you like, but you can use Outlook Express as well. You just need to add the document to send as an attachment to the email.

To set up Outlook Express to get your email, you must first find out what the POP3 and SMTP setting you must use. You can get that information from your email provider, it is different for every email provider. Then you go to the "File" menu at the top left of Outlook Express and select "Identities" and select "Add New Identity" and from there you will go thru a wizard to guide you thru the process of setting up your email client. Just make sure you have the POP3 and SMTP settings available for you to put into Outlook Express when prompted to in the wizard.

Scanning to C352 server connect error


Check you smtp server settings in admin settings. Verify there correct. If your smtp server needs your email address and password to send, that should be populated as well under them smtp authentication settings.

Konica Minolta 250 Bizhub scanning Operations


You need to create a "one-touch"
This can be done in the Admin Screen without having to enter a code.
Better yet is to just yype the IP address into your browser and create them there.
The copier will need an email address in order to send them and you may need to log out and then back into the 250 as an "Admin".

Ricoh Aficio 1075 - SMTP error message


To use the scan to email function on your copier you need some settings from your internet provider (email setting specifically). Go into Outlook options and get your SMTP server, user name and password.

On your copier you need to change under User tools, system setting and file transfer and put these settings in. As long as your machine is set up for scan to folder thats all you should need.
