Question about Samsung SGH-t629 Cellular Phone
Have a T-mobile Samsung T629. Normally it goes through two or three splash screens before it loads the normal menus. The first is a white background that says Samsung, and has the website. The other is the Tmobile splash screen.
Anyway, when I turn on the phone, it goes to the first splash screen where it says Samsung, but doesn't load anything beyond that. The screen is effectively frozen. Holding down the power button does nothing, and I have to pull the battery to turn the thing off.
No physical damage, no water damage.
I first noticed this after I turned off my phone, because it started displaying some weird things. The background had gotten messed up, with different colored blocks in the corners of the screen. When I turned it back on, I got this problem, which has been persisting ever since.
Another note that may or may not have relevance: When the phone is off, and I plug in the charger, the keys light up, but the screen remains off. Normally it would turn on, and the screen would show an image of a battery charging.
Take your sim car out and try using these codes to reset the phone.
*2767*2878# and *2767*3855#
Your phone software could also be corrupt.
If you go to samsung you may be able to update the firmware in the phone over the internet.
If all else fails have the phone re-flashed by a technician.
