Question about ACP Cavalry (CAUE37500) 500 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive

1 Answer

My cavalry ehd won't boot up & the light blinks blue/red.

I have a MAC & bought a cavalry 500 GB external hard drive. It worked great at first, then I got a message saying that my computer couldn't read the drive, and the light was blinking blue/red. I turned it off & back on & it was fine. 2 weeks later, it did the same thing, only now it won't boot up & the light just blinks. It starts to boot up - I can hear it - & then the light starts blinking & the noise stops. Is there a way to fix this, or a way to get my info off this POS?

Thanks for the link, but most of the tips were for drives that started up, but weren't accessible. The only two hints I could use I've already tried: restarting the hd, & changing USB cables.

My external 500GB Cavalry drive has a blinking red and blue light when it is turned on. Is there any way to reset it and get the information off the drive.

There is nothing to reset in it, it either works or it doesn't. All you can try is to take the hard disk from the case and put it in a desktop - maybe it still has enough life left in it to be accessible enough in there to allow you the chance to get your data out.

Calvary 1TB USB 2Bay external hard drive problem

The problem could be the enclosure, not the drive.
I would take the drive out of the Calvary enclosure and install it in another one. Hopefully it will come up and you can access your data.

External hard drive unreadable

Just a thought-

Make sure all your connections are hooked up before turning anything on. Turn on the external drive BEFORE turning on your computer.

First I had to reseat one of the drives which had worked loose and become unseated during shipping. Then I had to format the hard drive and finally I had a 1TB external hard drive I could use. The light is still red.

Computer is not able to detect the hard drive

One important question: Is this a new hard drive you have just bought straight from a store? If it is, it has to be formatted for PC or MAC first. Let me know if it new or had it for awhile.
