Question about HTC TyTN II Smartphone
I work in Qatar and I recently went to UK on business. While there my phone came up with the error MM#6 and would not connect to any network. Since that time it stopped being able to be charged on the mains outlet charger, but it can still be charged using the car adapter charger. I have tried three different chargers, taken the battery out, done a hard reset and even swopped SIMS, but still it only allows me to charge it from the car. Any ideas or do I just use it as a "door stop"
The network issue in UK was not solved and I think it was something to do with the Qatar SIM card. The charging problem was solved with the assistance of my son. I checked the USB socket in the phone with a magnifying glass with a backlight. I could see that the pins had been pushed to the side and so they were clearly not making the correct contact. Using the magnifying glass and backlight to see properly, I used a small pin to carefully push the pins in the USB socket back into place and now the phone charger works ok. Needs patience, a good magnifying glass (My wife has one of those big ones that you see in beauticians) with a backlight and a steady hand. Only other solution is to dismantle the phone and I did not want to try that or send it away..
