On the kohler v twin 27 hp, I changed the solenoid but forgot to mark the wires going to the main terminals. What wire goes to the left terminal what to the right terminal?

Hi Michelle:

One wire comes from the positive battery terminal,
The other goes to the starter.
The little wire comes through the ignition switch to the "activator" terminal.
When the key is turned, power gets to the activator terminal, which then causes the solenoid to close, allowing power to go through it from the battery to the starter.
Considering all of that, it really won't matter which way the terminals are connected.
Of there is a + or - next to a terminal, connect the + to the battery.

I'm building and attaching a John Deere electric spreader to a x540 tractor. The problem is the wiring. The instruction manual says to connect the wire (which I just attached to the battery terminals) to...

I just purchased the electric spreader model LP3301 for my X500 & ran into the same problem. Here is what I did.
In my ignition wiring harness there are 3 yellow wires, two red, & one purple wire. I took a volt meter & tested the wires with the ignition on & off. The three yellow wires were the hot ones. There are 2 together & 1 alone. I spliced into one of the 2 that are together. The one that is alone is for the lights & is only hot when the lights are on. Electric spreader works only when the ignition is in the on position as it should.
Hope this helps.

Shaft turns while trying to remove blade on B&D MM875 elec. mower

Here's the scoop on the MM875: it has a plastic piece called a "blade insulator" (part # 241381-01) that "locks" the shaft to the blade, so that you can remove the nut by stopping or blocking the blade. If it has been damaged or stripped out, then stopping the blade won't do anything. However, the metal spacer directly under the nut IS still locked to the shaft (because of its shape), so you can use a pipe wrench or something to hold that in place and unscrew the nut. You might even be able to get someone in a home improvement store to do this for you. But you will still need to replace the insulator, which is only a few dollars.

If you unplug your harness from the key switch on the back of the key switch you will see by the terminals letters stamped a S for solenoid a L for lights B for battery G ground and a M for magneto. This will tell you were the loose wires should go. Hope this helped.

Switch diagram needed

Funny, I came here because I just opened up the switch case on my MM875. Hold the switch so the terminals are on top. Call the black switch (the part you push in to power up the mower) north. The north post gets white (metal connector). The west post gets red (plastic connector). The east post gets the black that comes from the mower's motor (plastic connector). The south post gets the black that comes from the outlet (metal connector)
(Black Plastic Switch)
White (Metal)
Red (Plastic) Black (Plastic--from motor))
Black (Metal--from outlet)
