Question about Sharp LL 172A-B 17" LCD Monitor
I've got an old sharp LL 172a-b monitor that went haywire 2 nights ago. I left it idle with a game on pause, and when i returned it was in power save mode, which it does after the screensaver turns on, only this time it didnt revive when i moved the mouse. The computer works fine, but for some reason it stopped recognizing/receiving the signal. The monitor is otherwise fine, the pixels are good, the power works... I get a green light on start up, and the screen lights up, but after a few moments of no signal it just returns to power saving mode.
It's not a video card problem as the PC works fine on an old CRT monitor. I'd like to go back to the LCD however...
it is going into sleep mode, good luck with this.... i am currently asking how to get my hard drive to quite putting my monitor into sleep mode.
although it hasn't worked for me because my screen stays black, one of the options given to me is to try to start in safe mode and then adjust your settings to "never" on the energy/sleep/hibernate mode
some one else suggested that i remove and reseat the video card
hopefully one of those will work for you

Gently pull the frame off because they have lock latches.

Testimonial: "Thanks for encouraging me to keep trying to separate the outer plastic case. Eventually I succeeded, but I still could not get at the backlight."
