You can take the power adapter off and also the battery off to turn it off if it doesn't let you shutdown with the cursor.
Cheers

HOW DO I FIX A FROZEN,UNMOVEABLE CURSOR ON A LENOVO T61 COMPUTER?

If your Lenovo is running Windows, you use your keyboard to shut it down. One way is to press ctrl + alt + delete; this will open the task manager. Use the keyboard to select your options or to shut it down from here.
Another way is by pressing alt + f4, but you must be in your desktop (main display). Also use the keyboard to select your options.

My gateway laptop cursor is frozen

This is caused by conflicting drivers.

Start off in Safe mode.

press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.

Then you should be able to use the mouse, see what programs have been recently installed that may have caused the conflict.

Have you tried plugging a usb mouse in. If that woks then the ribbon connecting your mousepad might be disconnected from the motherboard.

Acer laptop cursor frozen

Your mouse function is not working, you can try external USB mouse,
probably the mouse pad is off, check in device manager from system properties in control panel, if it shows mouse installed.

I have a Toshiba LapTop Windows 7 My granddaughter pushed keys and now i can't get the cursor to move. I have tried shutting down and it is still frozen in the middle .

Are you using the trackpad to manipulate the cursor, or are you using an external mouse?

If you're using the trackpad, it may be as simple as using the Fn keys and the corresponding F keys at the top of the keyboard to enable the trackpad feature again. If that doesn't work, try plugging in an external mouse via USB port to see if that works.
If you're using an external mouse, then try to see if the cursor moves while using the trackpad.

Hopefully one of these options will give you control back over your cursor again.
