Question about Philips HDD1630 MP3 Player
I plugged my mp3 player into my friends radio (one of those tapes that you put into the tape player and plug in) and was listening to the music on the way to the store like i have before. However when i came back out it said 'list empty' and now all of my songs are gone. I don't know what happened, or how all the songs got wiped.
Anyone have any idea how i can get them back? Or why it did this?
This player is virtually obsolete - you may have a hardware problem which will require calling Philips to see if it is still in-warranty. Notice the warnings on Philips website that indicates that plugging this device into a computer running
Windows Vista or Windows Media Player 11.
Here is something you can try:
Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.
After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
