Try the same thing, but manually hold the boom arm in the fully open position. Seems like these units may have a faulty switch that fails to recognize when the boom arm is open or closed.

I have the same model make sure bluetooth is set to ON, on your phone. sometimes there are pairing problems if the device is paired and connected to an additional unit while trying to pair it to something else such as your phone, it can be paired to other units just don't have it connected to them. After you have your bluetooth set to ON, get to where it asks to add or find a new device. The moment you click to search for new devices click and hold the main button until it the blue light stays illuminated, your phone should still be searching while this happened otherwise just click search for new devices again while the blue is still steadily lit. like you said it just wont pair and you have gotten it to go steadily blue. i have had this problem before just keep trying it sometimes it takes a number of times before pairing or even discovering the devices. if it persists on not working try the bluetooth unit with another phone it could be possible the device is faulty. there are fake bluetooths and the h710 was and still is a popular model they like to immitate. i dont know if this helped much but just because i had the same producti figured id give a word.

Where can I get a free download for the installer of my Motorola H710 Bluetooth headset

I don't think it comes with an installer. Instead, follow these instructions from eHow.com

1. Charge the headset for two hours before attempting to pair it.
2. Set the headset into pairing mode by opening the microphone. It will automatically go into pairing mode if it is the first time you are using the headset.
3. Set your phone into discovery mode by opening your Bluetooth settings and choosing to "Add" or "Search" for new devices.
4. Choose "Motorola H710" from the list of devices and enter the passkey, "0000," to complete the setup.

I paired my H710 with my lg Chocolate touch and the phone recognized it and it seemed to be connected. I haven't used it for a while and when I try to connect it says that communication failed. I have been...

To put your headset again in pairing mode, you must assure that your phone's bluetooth radio is turned off. Only then, open your headset's boom. After it is in pairing mode, turn your phone's bluetooth radio on, and make it search for new devices.
Hope it works for you.

Can't get new Jabra BT8040 to connect to LG Env3

I have the env Touch and the Jabra Halo. Initially, I had a problem pairing the two, then I realized that I was not following the directions properly. The manual shows two sections for pairing ("first time pairing" and "later pairing"). I was following the instructions for the former when I should have been following the latter. I also failed to notice that the BT indicator was flashing blue and not solid blue, as it needs to be, for pairing mode. So, if you haven't already done so, follow the instructions for "later pairing" here. Make sure that you see the SOLID blue light on the BT indicator on the headset when you try to pair.

Trying to pair my new H710 Motorola headset with my LG shine AT&T cell phone. Doing everything right and just not working

Depending on the phone... try and remove the current bluetooth device. Close the headset. Go to thephone and choose discover, or search. Open the headset and press and hold the big button. It should then turn purple and should be recognized. After this, it will ask for a passcode.

Also make sure the battery on theheadset is charged before doing this.

The passkey will be 0000, four zeros.

Motorola h710 bluetooth will connect to phone but no audio

I disabled the bluetooth from my phone. I then turned off my phone and rebooted it. Once the phone was turned back on, I paired it up with the bluetooth and then it worked. So disabling and removing everything and starting over worked.
