Spring Switch above key and tumbler controls alarm, auto door lock, clock, license plate lamp.

I would contact the locksmith that did the work and explain the issue you are having. Chances are the contactor is bent and needs straightened.

It is best to call a locksmith, unless you know how to take apart the ignition tumbler and put the assemly locks in the correct order. It sounds like the key tumbler hold in broke and all the tumblers are loose and causing the key to be stuck. If you want to hurry the job for the locksmith and save money, buy the key tumbler assembly for your vehicle for the locksmith to install. Otherwise he will have to make the trip to buy the assembly, which in turn costs you more money. Mechanic shops can replace key tumblers too but when it is stuck in the column, it takes a lot of effort to remove if they are unskilled.

you wont,, you will have to replace the ignition switch /tumbler to get the alarm back working.

Talking about pulling the air bag,removing the clock spring,
special tools for the lock plate,then it gets easy.

Disconnect the batt. for like 20 min to kill the air bag,remove the bag ,then the wheel,(with the puller you rented),the tool to remove the clip for the lock plate come next( also rented from Auto Zone or such like)
The tumbler is held in with a pin that unscrews ,then the cyl. just slides out.

Switch ignition OFF and remove key, while LED illuminated. Programming mode activated for approximately 20 seconds (LED illuminated). Proceed as follows: Point key at receiver (located near interior lamp). Press and hold unlock button Fig. 1 [1]. After approximately 1 second key LED will flash once [3]. Press lock button 3 times Fig. 1 [2]. Release unlock button Fig. 1 [1]. Continue to point key at receiver until LEDs in clock and key have flashed 5 times. Ensure LED remains illuminated. Repeat above procedure within 20 seconds to program remaining keys. To exit programming mode and extinguish clock LED: Switch ignition ON and OFF. Wait approximately 20 seconds.

To position II. To position I. Programming mode activated for approximately 20 seconds. LED or fog lamps ON warning lamp illuminates (some models) or the system will emit an acoustic signal to indicate start of programming mode. Proceed as follows: Type 1: Press and hold unlock button Fig. 1 [1]. Type 2: Press unlock button Fig. 2 [2]. Ensure clock LED or fog lamps ON warning lamp flashes (some models) or wait for acoustic signal (indicates correct programming). Wait 2 seconds. Repeat above procedure within 20 seconds to program remaining keys. To exit programming mode: Switch ignition ON. Wait 20 seconds.
NOTE: A maximum of 4 keys can be programmed.

You can try the Police who have a Slim-Jim and once in a while they will help on this. Your Ignition key should unlock the door.

Most Autoclubs or Car Insurances have a Locksmith benefit. Locksmiths have Master keys.

Dealers can look up your Vin#. It should be on your Insurance form or on the ID plate below the Drivers windshield. They can cut a new key. If you have a key for the Ignition, you only need a Tumbler key for the doorlock. Electronic keys can cost $100+ a Tumbler key only $10.

It sounds like the classic "switch needs replacing". You only need the tumbler replaced. Before installing the new tumbler take it and your door key to your local locksmith and they can key the new tumbler to work with the old key. This saves you from have to have two different keys.

The horn chirp can be disable by pressing the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously until the hazard lights flash, and no enable press the lock and unlock until the horn chirp.
To reprogram (enter new ID) key fob (keyless remote controller) follow the steps.
1. Close all doors and lock all doors
2. Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash.) NOTE: Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time.
NOTE: Do not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is accurately completed.
3. Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.
4. Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash)
NOTE: Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful. The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is accurately completed and programming is successful.
If there is only one remote controller skip step 5.
5. Additional ID code entry Release the door lock, then lock again with door lock/unlock switch (In power window main switch)
6. Remove key from ignition
7. Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door. (END)

You basically have to take the whole steering wheel apart to get to the tumbler. You should go buy a manual for your car and it will show details.

What you need to do is this:

Remove Steering wheel
Remove big connector under dash, it has a 8mm bolt that is holding it in, this will loosen up the wires in the steering column
Pull out clock spring and let it hang
Get lock plate compressor and remove lock plate, the snap ring is kinda hard to get off
Remove plates and spring behind lock plate
Put turn signal switch to the turn right position
remove three screws holding in turn signal cam
remove key warning buzzer, needle nose pliers and it just pulls out, be gentle
remove screw with a torx head that holds the ignition tumbler in place
