Just run a regular cycle with white vinegar in a cup with the dishwasher empty.

Ongoing problem with Frigidaire Dishwasher FDB1050REC.

Let see if I can help!

If the light stays lit it would mean that the latch switch is defective and is not opening (electrically) when the door latch is cycled. When you go through the power off circuit breaker it performs the same function as if the latch switch was cycled hence the machine will operate until the next time the end of cycle clean light appears.

During your earlier repairs the inner panel of the door is removed and it is possible the switch operation was interfered with either allowing it to work or disabling its operation.

When the door latch is cycled at end of cycle the clean light should go out.

Check switch operation, installation and adjust or replace switch if defective.

If the washer is currently not working and you had smelled burning you need to check the following.:
  • Electrical connections to the control board, pump and heater. After the maintenance of removing the connectors may had been dirty and do to a high resistance connection overheated and failed.
  • Check the control board for PC track failure where the copper traces and connections have failed. Replace control board
  • The motor for a shorted winding. Replace pump motor.
These machines are very good and I would repair.

Hope this helps?

I use this dishwasher in a florist to clean wax out of candle glass and recently it is not working. E4 codes appear, and it over flows sometimes.

this all I can find Machine will not fill or will not fill high enough. (Display shows E0, E2, E3 or E4. Machine will not run). 1. Low water pressure - check for clogged hose strainer; ensure the site water pressure meets minimum flow pressures. 2. Make sure probes are clean. (See Cleaning.) 3. No water pressure - main water supply valves may not be working. 4. Anti-siphon valve - located in the lower left area of the chamber just above the water line. Drain the machine and insert toothpick or similar object into hole to verify ball (3?16" OD) is free to float. 5. Delime machine perhaps the wax is plugging up the floating ball area

Will not clean dishes

Sometimes because of water pressure the inlet valve doesn't allow enough water into the machine to satisfy the float switch so you don't have enough water to completely clean the dishes.Manufacturers install whats called a flow washer to control the flow of water into the machine in case of too much water pressure. What you can do is remove the flow washer from the valve itself to allow enough water to enter the machine. The other problem could be that the water is not hot enough. Some water heaters are set to 120 deg. to save on utility bills. To clean effectively the dishwasher water temp needs to be at least 160 deg. which is the temp restaurants use to clean and sterilize their dishes. Check to see if your dishwasher has a water heat switch on the control panel that will increase the water temp to 160 deg. If not just turn up your water heater temp. To check water flow just open the door when it is finished with the first fill right before it starts washing and check to see if the float switch is satisfied. You can check it by just pushing down on it and listening for a click. Either one of these should solve your dirty dish problem. Good luck

Clean lite is flashing

Hi,

This is an indication that there was a failure to heat the water properly. I have put together some instructions on how to reset the control so you can use the dishwasher and some things to check to avoid this problem again. Follow the link below and let me know if it was helpful.

Dishes not coming clean

Five common causes:-

1. The dishwasher hasn't got any salt in, or the salt dispenser control is set too low. Even if your tablets/powder have a salt function, it's often not enough in hard water areas and supplementary salt must be added to the salt dispenser.

2. There is no rinse aid in the machine or the dispenser control is set too low. Supplementary rinse aid may be needed even with tablets/powder which claim to include it.

3. The dishwasher is not reaching the correct operating temperature. This can be due to a faulty machine, or by using low temperature washes inappropriately. Low temperature washes are only suited to very lightly soiled loads which have not baked/dried on. There ARE special low temperature tablets/powders, but they're designed only for specialised domestic machines with low temperature overnight wash cycles or for commercial dishwashers.

4. The filters/debris traps at the bottom of the machine are not clean.

5. You're using the "wrong" brand tablets/powder. In this instance "wrong" simply means that your machine just doesn't get on with the brand you're currently using. price has little to do with it; I find with my current machine that the market leading expensive brand works poorly but the ultra-cheap supermarket basic value brand works perfectly. Also it can be down to using a genuinely wrong tablet/powder choice as per suggestion #3.

Seems like you have a keyboard error as well.

:)

The same is true for your diswasher - the main controller has failed, and requires replacement.

Try the following resets first...

If the light is constantly blinking vs blinking a set number of time and then starting over again it can indicate that one of the buttons are stuck. Which can cause the light to constantly flash. You may have to change out the control button.
If it's blinking a set number of times, try doing this keystroke sequence.
  • Crack the door open.
  • Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub - Air Dry - Hi Temp Scrub - Air Dry
  • Close and latch the door
  • Press the cancel button

  • One other sequence you can try would be
    sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry

Otherwise, with the constant blinking of the light then you may have to change out the control panel.

HOWEVER - before replacing the board - keep in mind there is a design flaw with this dishawasher - the vent is directly below the control panel, and you are likely to experience this again in the near future.

it may be worth the investment of the repair cost toward a new washer - as the board is at LEAST $145 plus labor if you do not want to do yourself.

If you are inclined to replace it yourself - please reply with the exact model #, and I can refer you to a parts source.

    Thanks for using FixYa!!

No water going to feed machine

There's no hot water Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally.

If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests:

    • Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on.

    • Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct.

    • Is there hot water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it.

There's no water at allIf there's no water at all, make these checks:

  • Is there water getting to the machine?

  • Is the water-volume selector switch set properly and are the control panel buttons pressed in all the way?

  • If you have a Maytag® washer, is the fuse (if there is one) in the control panel at the lid-switch bracket blown?

  • Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve.

    Dishwasher problem

I solved the reset by pressing the air dry and reset buttons 6 times in sequence, the whole panel array lit and I was then able to reset. I have had no problems since and have used it 6 times. I initially thought that the chipset had a volatile memory and took out the control card and checked all sensors, the falut persisted and I was so close to scrapping the thing !
We have had a few hydro outages here recently, I guess this put the machine out of sequence and it would not reset. I recommend that if you have a similar problem try pressing the buttons one after the other within 6 seconds, I guess similar machines with a slightly different touch pad use this means to unlock too so play with it for a while!
