Won't turn on

I know it sounds silly, but have you replaced the batteries? Do you have your receipt still? Maybe it is still under a warranty of some sort? As for that dealer, maybe he could let you exchange it if you have a receipt?

MICROPHONE IS NOT WORKIN

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
Usually what happens is the wires that extend through the body and connect to the cartridge get twisted off when you replace the screen or inspect the microphone cartridge. Shure has an excellent service reputation in the industry and the best solution is send it back to them for repair. More often then not they will not repair your old one and send you a new SM58 back. I don't suggest tackling the repair yourself because it's easy to do more damage then exists with the sensitive connections.
Your can take it to your local Shure Dealer and have them send it in for you or here is a link you can do it yourself. Sometimes the Dealers have more clout.

Please contact us if we can be of more service.
Kind regards,

I have a aaa duracell battery charger (2 batteries) and want to know should i leave the batteries in my microphone until they need charging or should i leave them in the charger until i want to use the...

Only charge rechargeable batteries when they are depleted of power. Once they are restored, it is okay to leave the batteries in the device but recommend removing when not in use to avoid contacts getting moisture in between causing corrosion, also the battery will leak some minimal power when installed/connected in the device.

My sm58 beta distorts. Is the mic element hard to change out?

If you know how to use a soldering iron, the element is easy to switch out. However, it is probably less expensive to send the mic to Shure. That is the cartridge might cost more than the flat fee repair charge that Shure Service charges.
