Monitor screen is black

Mine started going blank on me about a week ago. When I press the power button, it comes back for a couple seconds then goes blank again. It takes 4 or 5 power cycles until it comes back on for good. Once this happens, it seems to stay on until I power down the PC. On restart, back to the old problem. Each time it goes blank, I hear a faint "zap" sound - and yes, the display is totally dark. I forgot to check to see if the power led goes from green to amber. The monitor only has a couple hundred hours on it. According to stuff I've read, it looks like the fix is either the power supply or replacing a bunch of capacitors. Oh joy! Mine started going blank on me about a week ago. Go into Device Manager and check your Video Card and see if there is a yellow/red/black? next to the device. It may just need a refresh on the device driver. Let me know.
