My monitor screen just suddenly went black. I checked if it was hooked up to my computer and plugged in, it was. If I press the power button I see my home screen of my desktop for about a second and it goes black again! Is it my computer or is it my monitor? Help! I need this asap and thank you for your help!

try plugging that monitor into another computer to diagnose wether your computer malfunctioned or it is indeed the monitor. if you plug THAT monitor into another working computer and it works then your computer is bad, if the monitor doesent work on the new computer then the monitor is bad...
The reason I ask you to hook up the viewsonic directly to the PC is to find out if the problem is in the USB adapter or in the monitor itself, you can also try your Viewsonic with other computer.
Basically just have the PC, VIEWSONIC, NO USB or the monitor. We need to narrow down the problem.
