Quartz heating elements problem in Krups toaster oven

I have a Krups toaster oven with quartz heating elements. Accidentally, cheese from a toast dripped on the quartz heating elements on the bottom; when in use, the oven now has pretty bad ''burned'' smell. I wuold like to clean the cheese off but the manual says explicitly ''never touch or clean the quartz heating elements''. I also read somewhere that grease on the quartz heating elements can cause premature burnout of the elements, so leaving it there does not sem a good idea either. So - what can I do to fix that, get the cheese of while not ruing the heating elements?

You can touch the element but be carefull the glass is thin .... so scrape it and do what you can . THEN USE A COTTON BALL AND ALCOHOL and clean the element that will get rid of the oil you left behind ,you will be fine ......Please if this answer helped , please rate this 3 or 4 stars . and keep me in the paid answer department . A 1 or 2 may knock me down into the unpaid ranks. Thanks Cactus Bob

Cleaning in this manner is relevant to light bulbs. Since the element produces the same power regardless of appearance I don't get how this would improve anything.

Black & Decker Toaster Oven - elements cycle on and off, which makes for a SLOW cook.

Oven has three modes: 1) oven mode cycles elements on and off to maintain a specific temp setting for up to 60 min. 2) toast should keep all elements on for a few min. 3) broil mode top elements only always on, up to 60 min. Make sure you have dials in correct position and use the toast timer.

ELECTRONICS SEEM TO WORK (ON/OFF; TIMER; CLOCK; OPERATION SELECTIONS [TOAST, BAKE, ETC]) BUT ELEMENTS DO NOT LIGHT UP

check the resistance of the plug by turning the timer and temperature switch, if there's no resistance, open your unit and check the resistance of thermal fuse which is connected to line wire. it is look like resistor..if the thermal fuse is ok then check the resistance of heating element..

Toaster not heating high enough

either the high voltage regulator is failing (you can test with voltmeter) Or the heating element is bad. You can test power to element.

Krups Toaster Oven elements stopped heating up

this is all to common . what thought happend did happen . the control board went bad and the elements where stuck on . inside there is a thermal fuse ,it blew out and saved you from haveing a fire but now the oven is dead . if you replaced the fuse it would just do it again and the board cannot be bought so your out of luck . on your next oven stay away from electronic controls . i am shocked you got 3 years out if it ,most go bad mutch sooner

Toaster does not work!!!

I investigated further (took it apart again to satisfy my curiosity) and it appears that one of the top heating elements (the front one) is open (burnt out). I cannot see an easy way to replace it (contacts are spot welded) and I can't find a place to buy the element. If I could it probably won't be worth it since a new oven costs $25 at Target (B&D TR0490W). Too bad since the oven looks like new. I assume the upper elements burn out more frequently because heat rises from the lower elements and adds extra heat at the top.

Top element not heating

I found that the heating element in the top front was burned off at the end. I removed the side cover and the ceramic insulator from the broken end. I then grabbed the broken end of the spring inside the glass tube and stretched it to where I could re-attach it to the connector. It now works after getting it back together.
If you attempt this repair, UNPLUG THE OVEN FIRST!
There is also a security screw at the bottom of the side cover.
