Hi,
My Tecra 510 CDT didn't boot yesterday morning. When I turned on
the power, it started beeping continuously. The battery was fully
charged. It hung up after the memory test. However, I powered it
on about 8 hrs later, it booted up without any problem. It has
been running ok. I am running Windows NT 4, with 32 MB RAM.
Did the same thing happen to anyone? I know the hard drive has a
bad sector. It crashed twice before and made a lot of noise after
the memory test. I had to reinstalled the operating system.
The laptop was bought about 1 year and a half ago. I wonder if
it has a 3-year part warrenty.
Thanks in advance for your help!

HD failure. Hanging after a memory count is definitely a HD failure.
Tome to get it into an authorized Toshiba service center.

Best advice: contact Toshiba (good luck) and see if your machine is
still covered under warranty. If so, back up all your data before
sending it back to them.
Good luck.
