Question about Goodman Heating & Cooling

I have a Goodman GMMT 100-4B furnace I purchased and had installed in October of 2003. I sent in my warranty card, but I cannot find a copy of my warranty. The heat exchanger is cracked and I need to know what the warranty was and if I am covered. Usually there is a ten year replacement warranty for the heat exchanger(replacement of unit) and a life time limited warranty on the heat exchanger. Please help and where do I call to resolve my issue with Goodman. My installer is not in the bussiness any longer. I tried that route already. Thanks, Darrell Becktell

Contact GMC in Houston Texas. The have an 800 number. You will have to have the model and seril number if this is still shown in date for their warranty then you'll just have freight to pay. Otherwise you'll need a copy of your check or statement or reciept where you bought it witth the dealer or place you bought it. The SN and MN are all the factory will have to verify when made.If it sat in someones warehouse 2 or 4 years you'll need your proof of purchase to make it go 10 years from purchase.

Did you buy an extended warranty, either at the retail store (Best Buy? other?) or directly from ORION?

Did you purchase it on a "premium" credit-card that "doubles" the warranty (from October 2013 to October 2014) ?

Sadly, it might be cheaper to buy a replacement than to take it to an authorized Orion repair outlet, for attempts at a repair.

I have a goodman gmp075-3 furnace, blower and igniter are working fine but not getting any gas to get furnace going


Check if 24 volts is being sent from the board to the gas valve, if not the board is nad and will need to be replaced, if there is 24 volts at the gas vlave terminals then the gas valve must be replaced.

No heat from furnace


If this is the first time unit has been fired up, you likely have air in the lines to purge first. Also make sure the gas supply is on/open. and that if there is a fuse present on the control board (likely a 3 Amp fuse) make sure it has not blown (which can happen simply by close proximity lightning strikes.)

Letting the unit go through the ignition sequence several times will purge the line. If furnace "locks out" on third start attempt, shut it off and start cycling it again until the furnace comes on..

This assumes the installation was checked for leaks initially.

Model CKL36-IL was installed just before I purchased home in October 2005. How long is warranty? Recently had it repaired (was dirty). Repairman said it looked/sounded like compressor was about to go...


Factory parts warranty is five years all parts one year labor. Capacitor and/or fan motor has gone out and will need replaced. The breaker will throw itself off if the condition gets bad enough. Suggest not using until repaired, turn off breaker.

Questionable installation of a Goodman furnace.


That seems to be the common practice. The low pressure created by the suction of the fan will draw air in from outside.

True, because there is no installing contractor involved with the sale the manufacturer cannot be assured that the heater will be installed properly. Contact a local installer to see if they can sell you the equipment for a few dollars over their cost if you pay them to install it. It may be cheaper in the long run especially if you are purchasing a Goodman. If not, follow the installation instructions to the letter.

Goodman furnace was installed on its back- Problem?


The furnace can not be installed with the doors facing up. It will not work properly and yes it is dangerous. The unit needs to be flipped to its side, and the plenums and the ducts need to be changed around along with your Flue (vent) pipe, and gas line. HVAC-R Tech
