Question about Toshiba D-VR4 DVD Recorder/VCR
I am trying to transfer from vhs & camcorder tapes to dvd. The manual doesnt have anything about high speed dubbing. I dont want to watch evey tape while I transfer it to dvd. Also tapes are 30 min.and dvd is 120min how do I get 2 tapes on one dvd
Unless both units has stated high speed transfer capabilities I think you have to do them one at a time and watch the entire video.
There are some units that are one unit for vhs to dvd. Panasonic is known to have some units but you are going to probably have to hunt for one. It will clearly state that it transferred compressed or highspeed.

Register and download the manual for free audio.manualsonline.com
If it won't PLAY VHS tapes it must have a serious mechanical problem (if it even loads) or its heads are glommed up, so it obviously won't record them either. When's the last time you ran a cleaning tape through it?
Solve the load or playback problem and it will probably record.
Time and poor storage conditions are the mortal enemies of tapes. Store the in a 'played
