Carrier gas pack inducer motor

The heater functions properly when I wiggle the small black/white/red wires going into the inducer motor . I'm assuming they send the board a signal to open the gas valve and fire up the unit .
The center frame and bearing plates are not tightened up and it's trying to shake itself apart , so I'm guessing those wires are loose inside also .
If , when I remove and inspect the motor , it can't be repaired , where's the best place to get a replacement at a decent price ?

Sounds like you may have a bad connecton at the end, which end? if you follow the wires out of the motor they sometimes go to a MOLEX whitish plug. The wires treminate in this plug with PINS sometimes these PINS dont seat or come loose in the plug. Pull the plug apart and check the wires comming in from both directions. If they wont push or pull out of the plug either way they are seated ok. Check for a bent PIN while have it apart. If its worse and this dosnt fix it or its the end going to the motor consult www.carrier.com for a dealer near you. DO NOT USE A GENERIC MOTOR on your furncae as I believe it is a 2 speed and most generic motors ar only 1 speed. SOme of these gaspack motors have a centrifical switch and if this is your problem again consult with a carrier dealer. The price of the motor is secondary to safety and longvity of your comfort investment. If I knew where you lived I could make a better recomendation.
A viberation could mean a HORNET nest (using mud for their nest) could have been in place and reciently came loose and fell into the fan on the motor. carefully remove the assembly and inspect it for bent fan or shaft or maybe plastic and broken or metal rusted out parts.
If you need more information I need to know a few more things. If this helps you r not please grade accordingly and help me improve. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK.

My Honeywell smartvalve stop opening the gas valve, inducer motor started, glow and pilot happen, just no fire...I replaced said smartvalve and upon installation, the inducer motor wouldnt run, no glo

Double check the wiring connections, maybe you have the pilot valve and the main valve wiring reversed. I had a call one time where the homeowner installed the gas valve backwards, so no flow and of course and the wiring on the three terminals was reversed.

The inducer should start whether or not the gas valve is wired wrong, unless it is wired in parallel with the pilot valve.

Vac switch. pull door/find grey tube to induced draft motor/pull tube off/suck on tube to hear it click/if so you need to find a wire small enough to insert into motor tube being sure power is off before doing this. 112 to 16G will work. reatttach and power up to see what happens. Good luck

Where is a prseeure switch on a carrier furnace

Your pressure switch will be located in the burner compartment. You will see the inducer motor that comes on when it has a call for heat. That motor is mounted to the housing inside the furnace. From that housing, there will be a small rubber tube going to the pressure switch. They are usually metal or black plastic, and round in shape. If the pressure switch is malfunctioning, try taking the hose off of the housing, being careful not to damage the hose. Blow and **** in on the hose and listen for the switch to "click" in and out. If there is no sound, it needs to be replaced. Also clear the adapter where the hose connects to the housing with a small piece of wire or something similar. These things clog up all the time and your basically making sure everything is clear before going any further. Another thing that can make a pressure switch act up is the inducer motor not working. And you might check the flue all the way through the roof to make sure its not blocked in any way. Hope this information helps and good luck.

Inducer motor does not come on

Check to see if there is power going to the motor from the black and white wires with a multi meter. try spinning the the motor by hand when it trys to start to see if the bearings are hung up or if the windings in the motor are bad.

red, white, and black will be your high voltage. Green will probably be for ground and yellow and orange go to the thermostat. I can confirm on Monday when I have access to manuals.

Just relpace a seized up inducer motor/flu vent. 3 red blinks

the diagnostic codes should be listed next to the wiring schematic on the inside of the blower compartment door. if the inducer motor was bad I bet you have a tripped flame rollout switch around the burners. look for a very small red button between two wires on a disk around the burners. push on the red button to reset the switck. this should turn your furnace back on.

Heat not coming on carrier gas pack code 31

code 31 indicates pressure switch did not close or reopened during the heat cycle....1st thing to check is the inducer motor,,this is a small motor that turns a small blower wheel that draws the exhaust gases through the furnace and blows them into the vent pipe....1st locate the inducer assembly,,most easily identified by the small plastic fan blade that cools the inducer motor as it runs..1st turn off tstat and turn off furnace power switch..then turn on furnace switch, then set tstat to heat, set the temp above room temp by 5 degrees...remove the furnace front cover, locate the inducer motor,,if it isnt turning, but is warm or hot after a minute or so,likely the inducer motor is bad..if it isnt turning and isnt warm after 1 minute, then likely the main control board is bad,,not turning the inducer motor when it should,,,,,if the inducer motor is running,,then the pressure switch isnt closing,, could be a bad pressure switch but more likely there is a problem with the venting...some possible problems that would cause the pressure switch not to close in an 80% eff furnace [metal vent pipe] are: [1] a blockage in the vent pipe, base of chimney, dead bird at the furnace where vent connects to furnace or down inside the inducer assy, accessed by removing vent pipe from furnace....if all clear the chimney could be blocked up inside,,is the draft good when vent is removed from base of chimney?..if furnace is a 90%+ type [pvc plastic vent pipe],,then check the intake pipe at the furnace by removing it where it attaches to top of furnace..is the intake clogged with anything?..then check the intake and exhaust pipes outside for blockages,,including ice/frost/snow at the exhaust pipe outlet..
