Your lcd is going out. Either that or your video card.

You can verify this by hooking up an external monitor to your laptop. If you see lines or distortion on the external it's the video card ( GPU ).

If you don't, it's probably the lcd.

90% of the time it's the lcd.

Easiest and cheapest way to fix it is to purchase an lcd from ebay and then just swap them.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Best of luck!

Big vertical line section on laptop

This problem is not with the software. By resetting the laptop to factory defaults will not resolve the issue. Problem with LCD screen this vertical/horizontal lines. You need to consult technician.

Got white vertical lines on left side of display

Vertical lines on an LCD screen are not a good sign. This usually means that your screen is going bad.

Black blob on bottom rh of screen, vertical & horizontal lines

The blob is a phisically damaged part of the LCD screen. Unfixable, the screen must be replaced and it will be expensive.

Laptop screens (2) drive me crazy!!!(and I like it...)

The old screen has a screen issue, then replacement appears to have a bad backlight. If possible, RMA the replacement, if bought as is, well, a learning experience. With Portable prices starting in the $400's I'd say it is time to cut your losses and put your money toward a new system.

Part of my LCD screen is missing.

This sounds like you have a damaged LCD screen or dead pixels. I don't know anyway to solve this besides changing the screen.
The only other thing would be a motherboard problem meaning u have to change that but most likely its the screen.
