Question about Compaq Presario M2000 Notebook
Some keys of my M2000 stopped functioning, (keys F,G, esc, backspace, right arrow) and up arrow seems to be stuck always. And please help give some instructions on how to dismantle it. Thanks!
It sounds like the keyboard is bad, to fix this flip laptop over and find screws that have an image of a keyboard on it and remove them. Then flip laptop back over and see if the keyboard have any clips up by the f4 and f8 key. Push them inwards and that should allow you to pop off the keyboard. Now you may have a ribbon cable that looks like this, if it looks like that it should pop off from the pin set. If it looks like this, then you need to pop up the tabs on each side and slide the ribbon out leaving the tabs in the up position on the motherboard. Go online and find a new keyboard and replace. Make sure if its a ribbon cable that its all the way in before pushing down the tabs otherwise it wont work.
