There is no battery in the Honeywell 6160 keypad. It is powered by the transformer in the control panel. If it is showing BAT on the keypad, check the main system battery in the control panel.
The low battery light will stop flashing when the new battery you just installed become fully charged.
It will take some time for the new battery to become fully charged.
How old is the unit? Make sure you are wetting the electrodes on the strap and it is snug around your body and in contact with skin just below your chest if female under your sports bra. If that doesn't work the battery in your strap may not be good.
