Question about Equipex PZ-330 Electric Single Oven
I have a Baumatic electric oven to which I have just replaced the broken element as it was not heating up anymore. Unfortunately, after switching the oven back on, I notice that the element keeps overheating, becoming incandescent and the RED thermostat light stays on and fails to regulate it. Before switching the oven off I checked if the thermostat light would go off by lowering from 250 to 75, but the red light stayed on. Can someone help me determine if the original spark that damaged the element I changed in the first place, as maybe also damadge the thermostat.. what I should do now? I don't feel safe using the over as it is now. any suggestions.. many thanks
It sounds like the thermostat is faulty, make sure the sensor is not detached inside the oven compartment, as this will affect the thermostatI if it is. If o/k, then the only option is to replace the thermostat. If it is fan assisted, then make sure the fan is working o/k as well.
