Unfortunately the max supported RAM size is 2GB. you cannot exceed that. Sorry for the dissapointing news!

Remove 2GB and it should boot back up fine!

Hope this helps, please rate well!

How to put in new memory on my acer 1691 notebook

Laptops are notoriously difficult to upgrade with one exception. Luckily, that exception is one of the quickest and best ways to improve the performance of your Acer laptop. Adding more RAM will speed up your laptop and boost its performance. Be aware, though, that Acer is also notorious for its "hidden memory compartment" under the keyboard.

Adding RAM to Your Acer Laptop
  • Step 1 Unplug your laptop from the AC power source and remove the battery.
  • Step 2 Protect your computer from static electricity by grounding yourself with an ESD wrist strap or through another grounding method.
  • Step 3 Locate the memory access door for the main memory module. It should be on the back of your computer.
  • Step 4 Unscrew the memory access door and remove it.
  • Step 5 Remove the RAM module by applying gentle outward pressure to the securing clips on either side of the RAM module until they release.
  • Step 6 Rotate the RAM module upward to a 45 degree angle and slide it out of the slot.
  • Step 7 Align the new RAM module with the tab in the connector slot.
  • Step 8 Slide it firmly into place and gently rotate it downward until it clicks into place.
  • Step 9 Replace the memory access door.
  • Step 10 Replace the battery and power up the computer. It should recognize the added memory and reconfigure itself for use.

Upgrading ram on laptop, new ram not recognized.

remove the bios battery for a few seconds...and place it back on ...this will make it see the new ram memory modules...if you are sure they are compatible ..they will work .....in fact ..the ddr1 333 512 M is more that compatible with your system and it will work after you remove the battery ...\ my recommendation is to reinstall a clean operation system after you boot up ...and format the C partition too...this have to be done after memory changes to get the max out of them ..

I get 3 beeps and no video on my gateway desktop

The beeps usually meen that the memory is either incorrect or not inserted correctly. Try removing the new memory and go back to the original configuration. Though not recommended, putting the memory in while still plugged up should not be the problem.

What RAM for Acer Aspire 5613AWLMI 533 or 677Mhz?

That being said, I'll make the following comments that will hopefully answer your questions.

The maximum memory for your computer is 4 GB. However, if you are using a 32-bit operating system only 3.7 will be available for the system to use minus however much else you are sharing for the video.

Using 667 memory won't make your processor run any faster; the 533 MHz FSB is set in the processor and using 667 memory won't make the memory run any faster either; it will only run at 533. If you do get just 1 2 GB chip to make 2.5 GB total, make sure it is the same speed as the other chip. Usually it's not an issue but sometimes it can be.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

    Aspire 5610 problems with motherboard

Very simply can be some loose hardware.

First thing is to take the battery out and unplug it from the wall. Plug it back in w/o the battery and try turning it on. If it boots great, if not unplug it to shut it off immediately and try turning it on again. Lot of no boot issues are because the system is in a failed sleep/hibernate and just wont get out of it until you do the above.

Try re-seating the RAM (hopefully it's not under the keyboard or somewhere hard to get). The RAM they ship with these units is low yield stuff so even though the RAM is good, and the slot is good, they're not making a good connection cause it's cheap stuff so you may want to try a different RAM chip all together.

Sometimes it can be a loose processor which is usually a lot harder to get to unless your savvy.

Boot with over 2GB of ram

Make sure you got the right speed -

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-4200 or DDR2 PC2-5300.

If you got faster than 5300 they may not clock down properly.

If the memory is the correct specs then it may simply not be compatible and you will have to try different RAM.

I have the best luck on laptops with Crucial ram - they have certified ram for many systems. here is a link for yours:
