Side by side freezer leaking from the freezer side.... notice glaze of ice at bottom of freezer side but no standing water inside..... has automatic ice maker which does not appear to be leaking from the tubing or water connection.... water puddles on the floor on the left front side of the freezer side (looking at the unit from the front) ....... will go for a couple of days without leaking onto the floor then all of a sudden a puddle of water will appear

  • Anonymous Mar 23, 2014

The bottom freezer appears to be leaking. Inside the freezer floor has a frozen water puddle. In addition every other day or so I see water seeping from the bottom right and left corners of the floor. Not sure what is happening.

Look for obstruction at the drain tray for the freezer. Common to have plastic wrap sucked into that area.Or gunk in the drain line. Blow through line to insure the gunk is not an issue.

Your defrost drain outlet is frozen over.
Turn off the fridge.
Remove the bottom drawers.
Look in the back section just below the back freezer panel and you will see an ice dam.
This must be defrosted. Use a hair dryer.
Once all the ice is gone pour water into the drain to make sure it is clear.
Then pour a 1/4 cup of bleach in the drain.
Turn the fridge back on and you will be OK until it happens to stop up again.

Freezer leaking water

The drain is plugged just below the coils in the back of the freezer. My fridge had the same problem and I found the hose (which can be accessed from the rear bottom) was plugged with mold. Also, i noticed the hose was connected to the water holding pan and was too close to the bottom and easy to plug. I removed it from the connector and just let it dangle in the holding pan.
