How will you be installing the radio? Are Your going to do it or are you haveing someone else do it? Is it going to be hard wired or is it going to have a wiring harness?

The codes read through the radio. You will remove this feature unless the radio is designed for Porsche. Go with the factory. By 2000 they do a good job with the sound system.

Either way it goes if you have the system installed into your car there should be no problems with the rest of the car. I know that some dealerships try to scare you in putting in a custom stereo system by sayingthat it could mess up your car. It can only mess up your car if you do not know what you are doing.

Sos button

What model year of Porsche do you have, and which model? I've never seen one anywhere in any Porsche vehicles I've been in. Here's what I think happens:

1. You press the SOS button in the Porsche.
2. The audio system mutes.
3. In 3-5 minutes, if you have subscribed, the operator connects.
4. You press it again to disconnect.

It is an emergency button.
