Question about Hoover S3765-040 WindTunnel Bagless Canister Vacuum
Size. Great vacuum but it is a pain to keep taking it apart & putting the belt back on. Any suggestions? I have the same problem with my Hoover Wind Tunnel. It will not stay on. I have changed the belts and adjusted the carpet height. (which is what hoover said to do). It still comes off. Anyone have any suggestions I have the same problem. The vacume worked for a good year, then the belt came off. Easy enough, I replaced it. Now the new belt keeps sliding off and taking it apart is a lot of work. This is the best vacume ever, so I want this to work.
One compatible belt that I use and works (at least while its new) is Royal 104425001. Try that.

Try putting a smaller belt on it.

Have you tried to plug the vaccuum in another outlet that is on another breaker? It could be the vaccuum tripped the breaker. Turn the breaker back on. The manual mentions the thermal protector could have been activated. If this happened it resets and your vac should run after 30 minutes. I have a Widepath Tempo and it has tripped the surge protector. If this is the problem try turning some things off that are also on that breaker/outlet, or unplug them when you use the vac.

If this is new, you have a years warranty on it, take it for repair. Did you get the right belts, the numbers are 38528035 for the flat belt and 38528034 for the V belt. Also if you are catching something like a towel or area rug in the brush roll, it will knock of the belt. Is the brush roll turning freely. If not then it needs to be replaced, does it motor sound ok? If not then there is a problem with it.

On this model it is only a single slide adjustment lever. have you trie to tilt the vac backwards (lifting the wieght off the front wheels) and then slide the adjustment lever?
If there is a mechanical issue with it. take the bottom plate and roller out, and then the 2 small screws which hold the cover on underneath. you should be able to see the problem from there
