I currently have a Toshiba DP5570 Digital Copier/Printer setup using NDPS printing system. The printer drivers download ok. My problem is that I have to manually configure each driver to be able to use the duplexer and stapler through the print driver. Is there a way to pre-configure this so that it is automatically setup when the driver downloads and installs?
Ok. Cause we are in an education environnment, you can imagine that it isn't so simple. Students do often things that they shouldn't
Thanks for your help.

We didn't try to automate both processes.. we already had NDPS out at the workstations, and then just pushed the NAL app. This works because we're in a relatively stable environment, where printers are not being pushed to various machines all the time.

Hi Jim.
How exactly do you do this ? We are distributing the drivers over NDPS and created a force run application object for changing paper size to A4. But we can't control the timing. That means there are times where it works for both printers, just for one or not at all.
NDPS distributes the drivers much or more slowly and the application often terminated to run, before NDPS finished distributing. So the changes are overwritten by NDPS and reset to Letter size.
Thanks for your help in advance

If the printer supports postscript and you are installing the PS driver, you can edit the PPD (Printer Desc File) with options such as duplexer, trays, and memory set as you wish. When the driver is installed, the "defaults" will now be what you set in the PPD.

Since there is no standard way of selecting pring options, NDPS is not able to control any of this functionality. The workaround we use is to create a NAL snapshot of the print driver configuration we want, and force-run that to all necessary users.
