The drum on my DLG0332W was also making noise at the back of the dryer...kind of a thump thump thump as the drum rotated. My dryer is only 4 years old. I got brave, downloaded the service manual and opened up the dryer. I found that the drum's welded seam was starting to separate where the roller wheels were coming into contact with the drum at the back of the dryer. Looks like a new drum is in order.

the dryer has Defective Drum Glides/Rollers. The dryer drum rests and spins on a set of rollers and/or drum glides. The
glides and rollers provide low friction contact points that allow the
drum to turn easily. When the glides and rollers become worn they can
cause the drum to drag. The dryer might only spin without a load or
only when assisted. Hope this helps.
Look closely at the seam of the dryer drum, at the very front and the very back. I suspect that the seam has developed a crack, and makes a thumping noise each time the crack passes over the drum support rollers. You will have to replace the drum to eliminate the problem
The clunking noise may be a broken weld on the drum. Every time it turns and passes through the guide wheel supports, it makes a thunk thunk noise. You will need to have a qualified LG technician diagnose the problem correctly but that's what it sounds like.
